Our drilling team were recently on-site in Bargara, QLD, conducting percolation tests, site classification, and sample collection for laboratory analysis. The collected samples underwent comprehensive physical and chemical analysis at our NATA-accredited environmental and agricultural laboratory in Tamworth, NSW, including tests for moisture content, bulk density, phosphorus, nitrogen, and the MEDLI Adsorption Isotherm parameters suite. These analyses provide critical data to support sustainable land management and development decisions throughout Australia. This project is a perfect example of how our drilling and laboratory teams work together across states to deliver a seamless, end-to-end service for our clients, ensuring accurate data and reliable insights. #geotechnicaltesting #environmentalscience #siteclassification #soiltesting #labtesting #sportsfields #bundaberg #teamwork

This morning, I had the pleasure of attending the Seeds of Opportunity ASIDA Industry Breakfast on Australian Sesame. The discussions around the emerging Australian sesame industry highlighted the exciting opportunities ahead but also underscored the evolving challenges that come with introducing a new crop at scale. One key takeaway for me was how critical it is for laboratories like GSG Laboratories to stay nimble and innovative as we adapt to new and developing standards. With every emerging industry comes a need for robust testing, compliance, and quality assurance frameworks. As the sesame market grows, labs must evolve alongside it ensuring accurate and reliable analysis, staying ahead of regulatory shifts, and supporting industry stakeholders with the data they need to succeed. It’s always great to connect with industry leaders and hear firsthand about the potential for growth in Australia’s agricultural sector. Looking forward to seeing where this industry heads next! #Agriculture #SesameIndustry #Innovation #Testing #GSGLabs #IndustryGrowth

Have you seen a LECO analyser instrument in action? In our enviro/ag laboratory, we use a LECO analyser to measure total carbon and nitrogen in soil, fertilisers, composts, and animal feed materials. This clip shows soil samples in measuring boats being automatically loaded for analysis using the Dumas high-temperature combustion method. At 1350°C, the samples combust in an oxygen-rich environment, converting carbon and nitrogen into their gaseous forms. The resulting gases are then measured using: • Infra-red detection for carbon • Thermal conductivity detection for nitrogen This precise method helps determine: • The nitrogen content in animal feed • The carbon and nitrogen content of fertilisers and composts • Total carbon, nitrogen, and organic matter in soils Accurate nutrient analysis is key to understanding soil health and optimising agricultural practices, contact us to learn more: 1300 295 835. #soiltesting #fertilisertesting #agriculturaltesting #australianagriculture #agronomy #agriculturallab
