#RUOKDay is an annual event on Guild's wellbeing calendar, and a day where we can all reflect on the importance of mental health and looking out for each other. Guild Group, together with Meridian Lawyers, hosted an insightful hybrid session, welcoming Sherisse Cohen, a registered psychologist and founder of BetterWorkLife. Sherisse shared valuable insights on recognising signs of someone struggling, and practical strategies we can all use to have supportive conversations, including how to ask "Are you OK?", and how to show our #genuinecare.

On 22 August, Guild Insurance welcomed members of Victoria Police to share insights on the Illicit Tobacco Conflict, currently raging across Australia, and largely in Victoria. The Guild Claims business unit hosted the session, in partnership with VicPol, as a part of Guild’s monthly Lunch n Learn sessions which create opportunities for the GIL Team to learn together. Insights from the session were invaluable for the team and helped them to understand more about the impacts this issue is having across Victorian communities, and importantly how this can impact our customers across Australia. One attendee shared that “Hearing from front-line law enforcement about their efforts to curb the spate of fire bombings, which impact our clients and communities across Victoria, was invaluable”. Guild Insurance would like to thank Detective Inspector Graham Banks and Detective Senior Sergeant Gus Storer from the Lunar Taskforce for their excellent engagement, and for working with us to create greater awareness on this important issue. The team is now equipped with greater knowledge, empathy, and insights around the potential risks to our customers and other members of the public.
