As part of MATES in Construction #matesflytheflag24 initiative, GWH hosted BBQs across our sites to reinforce our commitment to suicide prevention. We also proudly wore our TradeMutt shirts to spark conversations and support TIACS Every year, 190 Australians in the construction industry tragically take their own lives. That’s one worker lost to suicide every second day. Construction workers are eight times more likely to die by suicide than in workplace accidents. For young workers, the risk is even higher — more than twice that of other young Australian men. MATES, a charity founded in 2008, is dedicated to lowering these alarming rates of suicide in the construction industry, and GWH has been a longstanding supporter. We have a new resident onsite at ONE Apartments by GWH! A second tower crane has been installed at 1 National Park Street in Newcastle! This signifies the wonderful achievements of the entire team," said Jonathan Craig, GWH Director when asked what he thought about the two cranes at GWH's biggest undertaking to date.
