𝗛𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 & 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 To celebrate World Mental Health Day and World Inclusion Day, the Hansen Technologies Australia team, led by Global CEO & Managing Director Andrew Hansen and CFO Richard English, came together for a refreshing walk. Around 45 people headed out from the office at 9:15 a.m. to Move for Mental Health. The weather couldn't have been more perfect—sunny skies and a light breeze set the ideal scene. Many of us donned our Hansen Tees, proudly displaying our logo as we took to the streets. We walked for 45 minutes, basking in the positive energy and good company, before enjoying a light morning tea. Our walk was more than a chance to stretch our legs; it was an opportunity to check in on each other and recharge. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 – 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗱 Across Hansen, we share a number of stories – of our people, our work, and our impact - where we challenge conventional ways and beliefs. This story, featuring Ove Gunnar Systad, adds to these.   With a degree in Avionics, Ove attributes a self-sufficient attitude to a successful transition into his current position as a Software Development Team Lead. “When it comes to technology and life, I would say I’ve been for the most part, self-made. I’ve learned by doing, sourcing motivation from people and a life-long passion for computers amongst other things.”   Despite a 50-minute journey on difficult roads to work from the Hansen office in Dale, Ove enjoys coming in and being with his colleagues, whom he considers to be good friends. “I really thrive by being around people and love the social engagement that work can bring. I really am driven and inspired by the people here.”   Working in an industry where degrees in computer science, engineering and IT are commonplace, Ove’s success is reflective of those of us who choose to take nonlinear paths and the value of following your passions. “Despite some painful times, I like to maintain an optimistic and positive outlook on life. Embrace everything that is around you and live for the moment!”

𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗕𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀 - 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 Alicia Zaffiro USA Swim Official and Hansen Technologies Head of Global IT Projects, Alicia Zaffiro, is a strong advocate for people embracing opportunities for change, both in work and life.   A competitive swimmer since childhood, Alicia participates in the US Masters and leads the organisation of local swim meets as a Meet Director. “Swimming has always been a big part of my life, from childhood, to college, and even through my pregnancies, I continued to swim competitively. I enjoy the sport and the friends and community that come with it – I just know I will swim forever.”   Like many at Hansen, Alicia’s passion for IT began with the courses she pursued at university. For the next decade after graduation, she honed her skills in IT Management. During this time, she recounts doing a little bit of everything, from taking care of phone systems to supporting servers. Following a seven-year break while she focused on the early years of her children, Alicia returned to work.   “As I returned to work, I had to rebuild my IT prowess as much had changed in those seven years! I started back part time while I did some learning on the side and ramped up to full time. It was an intense period, but fascinating.” During this time, Alicia began evolving the learning she was investing in and gained her Project Management (PMP) certification. “When I initially joined Hansen, I started as Infrastructure Project Manager, then with expanded responsibilities to be the escalation point for the Americas in IT Services, and most recently as Head of Global IT Projects. Together we went on a journey, modernising and learning about the many leaps in technology.”

And that's a wrap for 2024! More than 1,000 people came together during this year's TM Forum's Innovate Americas.
