RTO Updates 📣 ASQA and DEWR have just published crucial resources to help Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) prepare for the revised standards coming into effect. These updates aim to enhance the quality and integrity of VET practices across Australia. 📄 ASQA's Guide: The newly released document from ASQA, Preparing for the Revised Standards https://lnkd.in/gEVFCSVS , outlines key steps RTOs can take to ensure compliance, including self-assurance practices, audit preparation, and improved student outcomes. It's a must-read for staying ahead of regulatory changes. 📑 Draft Standards: The Standards for RTOs provided by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) focus on raising benchmarks for trainer competencies, assessment strategies, and learner support, all aimed at delivering better vocational education outcomes. The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) has released the policy version of the revised Standards, which will come into full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025. The revised Standards set out requirements for providers and will comprise of the: 🔹Outcome Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 🔹Credential Policy 🔹Compliance Requirements To support providers to become familiar with the intent of the revised Standards, DEWR has also released draft Policy Guidance. ASQA will be progressively releasing draft Regulatory Guidelines to support providers to transition to the revised Standards. Ahead of releasing the full suite of guidance materials, our draft 'Preparing for the revised Standards' guide is now available on our website. This outlines areas for providers to consider when assessing and self-assuring operations against the revised Standards and will be incorporated into our Regulatory Guidelines in coming months. There will be further opportunities to provide feedback on these resources which will help us tailor and improve our educative materials to meet your needs. Calling all RTOs! 📣 Are you interested in accessing the DESBT funding to deliver high-quality training in Queensland? All interested RTOs including existing SAS-approved suppliers must submit an EOI to be considered for the 2025-2026 contracts.   If you meet the Stage 1 Mandatory eligibility criteria below, now is the time to submit your expression of interest (EOI). To be eligible, RTOs must have: ✅ Current RTO registration with ASQA (or relevant regulator) for at least 2 years ✅ Relevant scope of registration for the qualifications you wish to deliver ✅ 12 months of delivery history in the qualifications or industry area you're applying for ✅ Sufficient delivery history for Queensland students ✅ RTO place of business in Queensland ✅ Strong compliance history ✅ Employer referees (non-labour hire or school-based) Ready to submit? Follow the instructions in your email and submit your EOI through Purchasing Online (POL) in the Partner Portal. ASQA's Corporate Plan 2024-25 is now live! Our Corporate Plan 2024-25 underscores our commitment to elevating the integrity, quality and relevance of national qualifications across the vocational education and training (VET) sector. To deliver on our purpose to ensure quality VET so that students, industry, governments and the community have confidence in the integrity of national qualifications issued by training providers, our priorities include: 🔹implementing amendments to the NVETR Act that give us greater powers to protect vulnerable students, act against non-genuine providers and ensure suitability at market entry 🔹uplifting our investigation, enforcement and intelligence capability, including multi-agency compliance operations, through our Integrity Unit 🔹collaborating across government and with other stakeholders to prepare for the implementation of the revised Standards for RTOs, including development of differentiated regulatory strategies and guidance to enhance sector capacity for continuous quality improvement 🔹responding to government policy objectives for VET, including supporting a more integrated approach between higher education, VET and migration systems.
