Meet Mick Sager, Nurse Practitioner. 🧑🏼⚕️ Mick has 23 years of emergency nursing experience in both clinical and non-clinical roles across the Hunter health district, so you know you're in the absolute best hands! After his nursing degree, Mick went on to obtain his Master of Nurse Practitioner to become one of the most senior and independent clinical nurses in our healthcare system. 🙌 A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse with the experience, expertise and autonomy to diagnose and treat people with a variety of acute or chronic health conditions. NP's can write prescriptions, write referrals, order x-rays and diagnostic tests, and are registered and endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Introducing Dr. Clair Spry, a dedicated Emergency Specialist and esteemed Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM). A familiar face at Heal Specialist Urgent Care, Dr. Spry brings a wealth of experience and passion to our clinic and patients. Originally from Queensland, Dr. Spry pursued her medical studies at the University of Wollongong and the University of Sydney and completed extensive training at various hospitals across New South Wales South Coast and Central West regions before settling in Newcastle in 2017. Dr. Spry's unwavering passion for emergency medicine led her to achieve her FACEM status in 2022. She thrives in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of emergency departments and is particularly passionate about passing on her knowledge to junior doctors, with a specialised focus on Point of Care ultrasound. Joining Heal Specialist Urgent Care, Dr. Spry is excited to provide the community with a unique and accessible option for urgent medical care precisely when it’s needed most.
