Updates

  • At Highview College, we are passionate about evolving and developing both our teaching and learning environments that foster opportunity and nurture educational endeavors. Our campus is a combination of restored historical buildings and tailored architecture that drive the pursuit of excellence, community connection and empower our students and staff. Aligned with our 5 year strategic plan, the gradual transformation of the spaces on campus will ensure students have purpose built environments to reach their full potential. The Central Learning Area has been renovated to enable the smooth transition between classes and to give access for all abilities. An IT Helpdesk has been installed along with new lockers and a breakout space for students. We are delighted to have this open and inviting space and we will be officially opening the area with a blessing and naming ceremony. We are excited to celebrate with our community!

  • We congratulate the Year 12 Class of 2024 on their results! Amongst all the excitement we would like to acknowledge, together, they have achieved more than they know through their leadership, perseverance and mateship. We are filled with so much pride for who they have become as ambitious, bold and compassionate young people in our world and it is our greatest hope that all our students launch into the next phase of their life knowing they are fiercely capable.

  • And that’s a wrap! 2024 has been a year of change and excitement, from celebrating 50 years of Highview to new leadership, learnings and refurbishments. Our school is constantly evolving and as our College Principal eloquently said in her end of year address ‘Recognising and celebrating success is also an important part of learning and growth.’ A year like this is not shaped and experienced without dedicated staff, parents and community members. We are grateful for their support in giving our students every opportunity to thrive academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally. We are enthusiastic for what 2025 holds but for now please enjoy this reflection from Highview’s 50 Year Celebration Day… there truly is a lot to celebrate.

  • We are fortunate to have exceptional educators that fuel and foster a love of learning at Highview College. Today is World Teachers’ Day and to thank our educators for the unique wealth of knowledge that they bring to their classrooms, we posed a question to students, ‘Who is an inspirational educator and how do they motivate you to be your best self?’. Please enjoy a few of our favourite responses…

In her role as Director of Curriculum, Carolyn has worked across the school, expertly leading and supporting staff in the delivery of curriculum from the Junior School through to the Senior School. Carolyn's strong interpersonal skills and commitment to strengthen staff innovation and creativity will build upon the outstanding foundation that Mrs Wendy Hare has established in the teaching and learning sphere. • As we mark our 50th year as a College, we wished to commemorate what this means to our community, so we posed the question ‘What does 50 Years of Highview mean to you?’. The open survey was sent to staff, students and alumni, and we were astounded by the responses. Tap to see a few of our favourite answers, all which affirm what is to be connected to this special community.

  • Guided by our passion for learning and growth, we are enhancing our educational spaces. Beginning with the refurbishment of our library which is the hub of our learning centre. Staff and students visit our library to read, research, collaborate, explore, chat, study and participate in various clubs. The new space will be a sanctuary for all to enjoy. • AI intelligence and its application in educational settings is an important future agenda item for our learning community to consider. How will this impact the curriculum, student screen time, trust between staff and students and academic integrity? AI will not replace the social, emotional and cognitive qualities of teachers but will shape the way we engage and support our students. At Highview we will start small and work with our community to build an ethical approach to this powerful new technology. We will aim to be the architects of our GenAI future, not passive recipients of imposed change.

  • As a College we are always thinking about the future and we have recently had the exciting task of creating our Strategic Plan Towards 2030. As we grow, innovate, and define, we are guided by experts in the field, our invested leaders and most importantly our community voice. This process is cultivated with careful consideration, and we can’t wait to share our published strategic plan in the following months.
