Our aim is to create a seamless experience for tradies and homeowners in place of the current unreliable - and unproductive - process that makes it a feat of mutual endurance. We build technology that solves the frictions of an industry ready for optimisation, by redesigning the tradie/client relationship and transforming the way trade businesses operate.     What an incredible night officially launching the hipages Group alumni program, hi-Lumni, and reconnecting with some of the amazing people who have shaped hipages over the past two decades! It was an event full of laughter and excitement as hipages alum from years past had the opportunity to meet, reconnect and see how far we've come as a company. The night featured a business update and product vision video from our CEO, Roby, as well as unveiling some of our exclusive alumni benefits including hipages save, CU-Health and Commbank perks. We were also fortunate enough to have Theresa from Nuance Food cater our event, sharing her personal story and impact behind her social enterprise catering business We’re grateful for the continued connection with alumni and excited of the mutual benefits of creating this community.     Twenty years ago, Roby Sharon-Zipser (BCom 1996), CEO and Co-Founder of hipages Group, envisioned a platform where Australians could easily find trusted tradies. Today, hipages is the most popular way for home renovators to connect with reliable electricians, builders, plumbers, and painters. The second most popular way might surprise you. “So the interesting thing is, we do have competitors, but it’s not what you think,” Roby said. “In terms of the main competitor for us, it’s word of mouth.” In the latest episode of The Business Of podcast, Roby explains how hipages went from an idea he had while renovating his own home to an ASX-listed company.     Meet Nick! Nicholas Tsipiras joined our Service team as a Senior Trade Support Representative last year and provides exceptional customer service to our tradies, helping them navigate our product and grow their business. Having recently won our 'Most Recognised Team Member' award for the Service team at our EOFY Awards, Nick is kicking goals in helping the team support our tradies while meeting our strategic goals. 🛠️ What do you love about working at hipages? "I enjoy the dynamic and innovative environment at hipages. The culture at hipages is immense. The Support team’s close knit culture and support from management really separates it as a great place to work". 🛠️ What is the best thing about your job? "My favourite thing about my role is to help our tradies with all their needs. I love problem solving and my Support role I’m in really challenges me to find my best self. We act as their go to point of contact and are able to help them out as much as possible." 🛠️ If you were a tradie, what would you be and why? "If I were to be a tradie I think I would be a carpenter because seeing a project come together and knowing you built something with lasting impact can bring a strong sense of accomplishment. Also, the diversity of carpentry is really interesting as you would be working on all sorts of projects." #hipagesteam

    It's Hackathon time again! A longstanding tradition at hipages, is our three-day long hackathon where hipagers from all departments come together and form teams to innovate, create and present their ideas for new features/ideas for our hipages product and service offering. This annual targeted investment in innovation gives our team the opportunity to step away from the day to day, think big and work with team members across the business on evolving the hipages business. This time around, the theme was our homeowners (consumers who post jobs on our platform), and we had ten teams go through to the second round of forming teams to develop a prototype and present their proposals to a panel of judges. Proposals were judged on innovation, use of technology and commercial viability (along with a People's Choice award, voted by all team members). As always, we were wowed by the creativity, imagination and sheer talent of our teams to bring their concepts to life in a matter of a few days. With ideas like these, our future looks bright! Congrats to all our teams, especially our winners. We are very proud to work for a company that invests in innovation in this way. #hipagesteam #hackathon #innovation #tech

    Congratulations to the entire hipages Group team on achieving stellar FY24 full-year results as announced to the market last week.     Having a huge focus and significantly investing in our people's career development is part of our hipages DNA and what makes us one of Australia's Great Places to Work. This week's learning topic was Negotiation! We were fortunate enough to have renowned expert trainer and facilitator Maud Vanhoutte come to our Sydney office to run her specialised Negotiation Workshop for our team. Due to overwhelming demand from our eager hipagers, Maud was kind enough to run an additional 3 separate sessions to ensure no one was left wanting. Our recently updated flexible and inspiring working space enabled this mass learning event, perfect for hosting groups who can connect and collaborate seamlessly. A huge thank you to Maud for coming into our hipages home and we look forward to seeing how the team uses their newly acquired knowledge and skills. #hipagesteam #learninganddevelopment #training

    Last Thursday, we held an assessment centre in our Sydney office for the third annual intake for our Sales Grad Program. The day began with an introduction to hipages and the sales department from our Sales Leadership Team, before one of our current grads spoke about their experience. From there, we kicked off our round of interviews including 1:1 chats with Sales Managers and a group activity. Our candidates were then treated to a lunch on us where they could further chat with our sales leaders and other hipages team. We were inspired to great to meet with a bunch of bright and enthusiastic graduates who are keen to kick start their career in Sales. Their energy was infectious as they gave it their all during the process, and we're looking forward to welcoming several new grads to our hipages home soon. At hipages, we're passionate about investing in and developing talent from the ground up and our Sales Grad program is just one of the ways we help kick-start and build careers.     Our People & Culture Manager, Jessie N. is back from her trip to visit our Vietnam team! Her trip was jam packed, hosting our Company Kick Off event so our CEO could share our FY25 strategy with our newest team members. The energy and enthusiasm from the team was contagious as they were inspired by our purpose and vision and are ready to hit the ground running. The day included insightful discussions and innovative ideas, embodying the hipages values of collaboration, innovation and making it happen.     Our Empower Women in Leadership Program has hit the halfway mark! Over the last few months, our cohort of women leaders have been attending workshops that seek to build their skills as authentic female leaders. Operating within the technology industry with systemic gender imbalances, the importance of developing current and emerging female leaders is paramount in creating a more diverse and equal workforce. This year, we opened up the program to offer scholarships for indigenous and socially disadvantaged external participants who have brought their unique experiences and perspectives to share and have enhanced the program for all. Through weekly rotational coffee catch ups our program participants have been able to get to know each other better and build support connections. Shared experience and support is one of the key ways we can build relationships, learn from others and ensure personal growth. At hipages, we are committed to gender equality and are driven to achieve equal representation across the company and are proud to report a $0 same role gender pay gap and median pay gap of 2.3% against the Australian average of 19.1%.
