Meet Jo Harris our CEO and co-founder. "It was my experience, both as a hiring manager and navigating the job market unsure how to highlight my own value and transferrable skills, that helped inspire Stevie." Jo has successfully navigated some major career moves - from nursing to co-founding an online retail brand (where she was voted one of the Top 50 people in e-commerce might we add 😉). But despite that success, when it came time for her next step, all the transferrable skills and rich experience she'd gained from these roles was often over-looked because of her non-linear path. "Its clear, there's a gap in the industry to help level the playing field for great talent who get overlooked because of their atypical resumes. But also for businesses who miss out on great talent due to the limits and biases of traditional hiring." Drawing on her startup experience, determination to make a difference, and genuine love of people, Jo leads the Stevie crew as we turn this lightbulb moment into a reality. About us
Little details. Big picture. At Stevie we matchmake talent and businesses. We ditch resumes in favour of our unique profiles — where little details create a big picture to showcase what matters. Why? Because new ways of working demand new ways of hiring. And because today, we’re looking for more: more information, more transparency and more from our work day. Save time, save energy and discover a world of opportunities within the Stevie community. Who is behind Stevie? A bunch of people who get along and believe in the power of connections. Why are we here? We realised that many businesses & people want the same thing: a happy, engaged and productive workplace. So, we established Stevie to better connect talent and businesses. To approach hiring differently and more cleverly. Because just like dating, it’s all about asking the right questions.

✨ Reflecting on that time we joined RMIT's School of Economics, Finance and Marketing to deep dive into the power of personal branding strategies. 💫 Your personal story is just as important as your professional skills, and earlier this month our CEO and Co-founder, Jo Harris, joined RMIT’s EFM EXPerience event to share insights on the importance of crafting your narrative to help you: - Stand out to employers - Gain clarity in your goals - Connect with like-minded professionals Students practiced pitching their personal brands in a “speed-networking” style session, boosting their confidence and networking skills, one connection at a time. A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible, especially Kieran Tierney and the RMIT University team. We’re so excited to support the next generation entering the workforce. Let’s keep these conversations going. #Stevie #RMITUniversity #FutureLeaders #PersonalBranding #CareerGoals #CareerDevelopment #Mentorship #ProfessionalNetworking #NetworkEvents #JobSeekers #SkillsDevelopment

Who Gives A Crap - what a simple, yet smart and human approach to ensure candidates get a considered response to their job applications, regardless of the outcome. We talk to talent weekly who have been ghosted following a job application, or even an interview. It's not good enough. Thank you for improving the experience here for candidates Who Gives A Crap, and to all other businesses - take note. And, if there is anyone in our network looking for talent in the UK, this superstar is searching for her next dream role, meet Sarah Byrne.
Passionate about digital marketing | Enthusiastic about Femtech, women's health & mental health | Looking for new opportunities
I recently applied for a role at Who Gives A Crap. One I knew I had zero chance getting but that application was fun 😊 What I didn't expect was the rejection email. They send a link to a webpage with helpful links to say thank you for applying. They recognise that the rejection is hard and not what we want to hear after applying. They are trying to make the process a little bit more human, I think. You can learn more about them, listen to a meditation, and even look at other B Corps vacancies! Obvs not as good as being carried forward in the process but a very nice gesture that I've not seen in my time of applying. Just shows that there is still room for growth and improvement when it comes to hiring! Thanks Who Gives A Crap for making the rejection a little bit easier to handle 😎 #JobSearch #DigitalMarketing #MentalHealth

✍️ Dear juniors, new graduates and soon-to-be graduates, We’ve spent the past three months working with RMIT University, having conversations with students as they prepare to enter the workforce - these are the most important pieces of advice we can offer when it comes to finding work and kick-starting your early career. 🔸 Demonstrate initiative. You might not have years of experience, but if you’re a proactive self-starter and can think outside of the box, you’ll get noticed. 🔸 The experience you have gained through part-time work or studies can be framed as professional assets. Communication skills, time management/prioritisation and project management skills are valuable transferrable assets and can be gained through part time work in customer service or sales for example. Reframe the way you think about this experience and make sure you are able to talk to this in job applications/interviews. 🔸 Start building your personal brand. Define messaging to help you communicate "who you are as a person", "your journey to get to here", and "what your professional value and motivations are". This can help you: 1. stand out from the crowd with potential employers 2. build confidence as you'll have more clarity on your direction and goals 3. build authentic and aligned connections with others in the industry through sharing your motivations. 🔸 You’re the only you. Be confident in your unique mix of skill, experience, and ambition - it’s what makes you unique. Businesses are also unique and will be looking for different attributes and skills when hiring, so the more you can share, the more opportunity you give a business to understand where you align. 🔸 Expand your job search beyond large/enterprise organisations. Leaders in scale-up businesses or founder-led SMEs often think differently and gravitate towards people who do too. Demonstrate you’re able to go the extra mile and you might find an opportunity to join a smaller business where you can immerse yourself and gain a lot of valuable and varied experience. 🔸 Don't be afraid to go for the opportunity, start the conversation, or ask the question. Everyone needs to start somewhere - and hiring managers have been where you are at some point in their career. Good luck, and as always our DMs are open if you want to chat ☎️ #Stevie #NewWayOfHiring #GraduateJobs #RMIT #CareerGoals #CareerAdvice
