Nothing like an upgrade! 🤩 Moruya Public School's P&C were recently the worthy recipients of a Horizon Bank Community Grant which helped them give their canteen equipment a refresh! The most exciting part of the upgrade was being able to get a new oven, as their last one was out of action. How is it already October? Time flies when you're having fun, and September was a fun month at Horizon! Here's what we were up to... 🪵 Eurobodalla Woodcraft Guild were the worthy recipients of a Horizon Bank Community Grant. They were able to buy a new chainsaw & protective gear which will help them safely trim donated tree trunks to fit in their milling machine. From there they'll be able to produce usable timber slabs for their members & community to use in community projects. 🌿 Our Moruya branch team spent a sunny Saturday at the Festival of Sustainable Choices in Moruya. It was a great day with plenty of workshops & stalls to suit everyone. Our team spent the day talking to the festival goers about how Horizon could help them make more sustainable choices with our Green Loans. 🏈 Tina, our Bega Branch Manager, attended the Bega RLFC Presentation Night to help present awards to some of the outstanding players. The club had a fantastic season, and we were thrilled to be a part of their awards night. 🌈 Colour Frenzy fun in Wollongong! Some of our Wollongong staff participated in the 5km Colour Frenzy at Stuart Park in a Horizon Bank team. It was a great team bonding experience with heaps of colourful fun & smiles. August came and went in a flash! 💫 Here's what we were up to at Horizon. 🥳 We were stoked to be a finalist in the Berry Business Awards for the 'MVP Community Supporter Award' 🙌 Our Berry branch has been open just over a year and we are so proud to be a part of the Berry community. 👏 Our Albion Park Branch were a collection point for the Share the Dignity Drive for the month of August, collecting feminine hygiene products that Share the Dignity distribute to those in need to help try end period poverty in Australia. ☀️ Some of our Wollongong Branch team headed to the Crown Street Markets to chat to our community about all things Horizon & customer-owned banking. 🏈 Esme from our Bermagui Branch & Howie the Horizon Bear headed out to present the Group 16 Rugby League team with their cheque as the winners of 'Best on Ground' for August! ⚠️ It was Scams Awareness Week from the 26th - 30th of August. This year Scamwatch were encouraging all Australians to speak up, share and report scams as a way to help protect each other. Another month done & dusted! Here’s what we were up to during July at Horizon… ✨ 96.5 WaveFM named the winner of the Horizon Bank ‘School of the Year’ for 2024! Nazareth Catholic Primary School in Shellharbour City won themselves $10,000 for their school! Congratulations! 🌿Callala Community Garden were recently able to install a recycled plastic picnic table in their fantastic garden space, thanks to a Horizon Bank Community Grant! This is a great addition for the community can better enjoy the beautiful area that surrounds! 🥳 We celebrated Berry Branch’s 1st Anniversary! Time flies when you’re having fun. In the past year we've been pleased to be involved in so many fun things to support our Berry community. A huge well done to the Berry branch team, Julie, Kim & Cortney, for all their hard work the last year! ☀️ Jenny & Ella from our Moruya branch headed to Narooma to present ‘Best on Ground’ winners, Footy to Fight MND, their cheque. It was a great day of footy & some brave participants took part in the Big Freeze all for a great cause! 🌟 Our Wollongong branch team brought their A-game at the Wollongong City Council Social Club’s Trivia Night, sponsored by Horizon, going up against 26 other teams.
