🌏 Our new vision paper calls for this shift: Humanitarian sector priorities, decisions and actions should be led by and value the diversity of local expertise to more effectively address the needs of affected populations. But how do we get there? Our new report ‘Vision Paper: Toward a More Equitable Humanitarian Knowledge and Evidence Landscape’ dives deep into four critical focus areas that challenge us to rethink the entire knowledge production process: 1. Who sets the humanitarian knowledge agenda? 2. How is humanitarian knowledge generated? 3. How can knowledge be co-produced with local actors? 4. How is knowledge shared and used to drive action? Each focus area offers practical steps to rethink how we use and generate knowledge in the humanitarian space. Explore the full report and let us know what you think! We’re grateful to our partners and colleagues who helped shape this vision, and we deeply appreciate their dedication to advancing this important work. Developing a framework to measure the impact of localisation at the community level is a major step forward, but how do we ensure it reaches those who need it most? As Zaki Ullah discusses with Beth Eggleston in the latest episode of I Think You’re On Mute, “dissemination is the key.” Whether it’s donors, UN agencies, or local actors, getting this tool into the hands of humanitarian stakeholders is key for driving effective locally led action that can be measured. 🎙️Listen to full episode now on Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Soundcloud or follow the link ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gwVGdVEB 📄 Access the new framework: https://lnkd.in/gjjDxxbU #IThinkYoureOnMute #Localisation #LocallyLedAction #Humanitarian GLOW Consultants (Private) Limited

🎙️The humanitarian sector has made strides in supporting localised action, but a gap remains in understanding its impact on affected communities. In a new episode of I Think You’re On Mute, Beth Eggleston speaks with Aaftab Ullah and Zaki Ullah about a model and framework introduced to measure the impact of localisation at the community level, tested with organisations in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Philippines 🌍 “We hope that the framework continues to provide detailed evidence that supports the effectiveness of the localised approaches in future…So the framework can help shift power dynamics toward more locally led initiative,” says Aaftab Ullah. 🎧 Tune in to learn how this approach can help shift power dynamics towards more locally led initiatives. #Podcast now streaming on Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Soundcloud or follow the link ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gwVGdVEB #IThinkYoureOnMute #Localisation #LocallyLedAction #Humanitarian

"How many more years I have to live here before you let me call it home?" a 35 years old Afghan refugee who was born in the country of asylum asked our national research team. Our response.....silence. Only tears in our eyes. Note: The picture is made by my 11 years old daughter - Fatima Khan - of a refugee family moving to a new home with all their belongings, and their pet, hoping for a rainbow future. Non-economic losses are deeply subjective—they depend on what people value. Climate change impacts these value systems in different ways, meaning the losses experienced vary from person to person. Dr. Moleen Nand (CCML, CEMS) explains to Beth Eggleston why community involvement is essential for understanding these unique values to truly comprehend and engage with non-economic losses – and crucially, to minimise them. “We do not want anyone or any community to undergo those losses or to experience those losses, so it's also important to conduct research where we minimise losses.” 🎙️ Listen to the full episode on Apple, Spotify, Soundcloud or follow the link ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g7bqKT7P #IThinkYoureOnMute #NonEconomicLossAndDamage #NELD #ClimateChange
