The Illawarra Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre is a place for women to heal and rebuild lives after experiencing domestic, family, and sexual violence. Through an innovative wrap-around approach, the Centre will support women to live independent and secure lives for the wellbeing of current and future generations. Underpinned by research, the Illawarra Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre is community-led and has been co-designed with women with lived experience, professional experts, and service providers.

  • Experts from around Australia met on 11 June at the first national roundtable into recovery and healing from domestic, family and sexual violence. Convened by the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Commission and the Australian Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Recovery Alliance, the roundtable brings together academics, sector representatives and people with lived experience to discuss what is needed for recovery and healing. Recovery is often a lifelong journey that requires holistic, wrap-around support such as housing, economic needs, justice and a coordinated approach across systems and services.   • The Illawarra Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre is looking for a Group Work Coordinator to deliver group work programs and wellbeing objectives to women who have experienced domestic, family and sexual violence. We're looking for a passionate individual who will be responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of group work programs aligned to the trauma recovery framework for the Centre.
