Meet Stone 👋 Stone has joined IRS after spending the last 5 years working in aged care, helping improve the lives of some of our most vulnerable people with a range of different health conditions. _____________________________ Let's get to know Stone a little better through a quick Q&A: 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿? I have always wanted to help people achieve their goals and return to activities and things that they used to love. Physiotherapy has helped me work with people in order to build back their independence and achieve their goals in a way that no other role can. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟯 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗼? 1. I love meeting new people and hearing all of their stories, journeys and achievements 2. I love being hands on and helping people achieve their goals and return to things that they haven't been able to do since their injuries 3. There's a lot of fun interactions with clients 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟯 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? 1. I'm an avid baker and love to bake all things bread and custard 2. I'm a keen volleyball player and love to play with both new and experienced players 3. I enjoy finding time to unwind and catch up on plenty of the latest tv shows 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗿? There's a lot to be fond of - my biggest win was helping a lady return to her activities after she broke her hip. She hadn't left her home since the injury, and 4 gruelling months later we had her visit a cafe with her son. The smile she had while telling me the story was infectious! Today marks the start of OT Week for 2024, where we're celebrating the theme of 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Occupational Therapy Australia celebrates 80 years since the formation of the first Occupational Therapists Club in Australia, fostering a strong sense of community amongst their members. Occupational Therapists have a long and proud history of coming together and we want to acknowledge and celebrate whilst highlighting the growth and evolution of the profession. #80YearsOfConnection #OTWeek2024 #OTWeek #OccupationalTherapy

Recently, members of the IRS team were invited to present to University of Melbourne Physiotherapy Students Society (MUPPS). Sharing an interesting case study provided insights on our multidisciplinary approach to neurological rehab and how we work collaboratively to help clients achieve their goals.
