Innate-ly founder, Adam Detwiler recently shared his perspective on some common responses to stressful situations that he's observed both in outdoor experiential learning environments as well as in the workplace... Which ones are your go to responses?

Recently, I had the privilege of leading a group of senior leaders through a challenging outdoor experiential learning session. Amidst adversity, I observed three distinct responses... While I'm sure there are other responses, the three response patterns I observed are also consistent with stress responses I've seen in the workplace. Below are the patterns and a helpful question that might support you to pull yourself out of the stress response and resume a more constructive position. Check out the reel for more information. Response 1: "Fighting Back..." Often, we resist accepting the situation. Next time, try asking, "What's here now?" to discover learning opportunities and unseen benefits. Response 2: "Better Than..." Feeling above the situation or too good for it? Ask yourself, "What else is possible?" to open up new avenues for growth. Response 3: "Been Here Before..." Think you've seen it all before? "What's new for me?" can reveal fresh perspectives and lessons, no matter how familiar the scenario. Putting ourselves through challenging experiential situations give us insight into how we handle workplace challenges. Let's embrace these moments as opportunities to evolve, build stronger relationships, and lead more effectively. Which is your default response?

When people say they want to learn and grow, and organisations around the world investing so much time in professional development of skills, why are we seeing such low engagement rates globally? One perspective is, perhaps we're starting at the wrong point. In this article, our founder Adam Detwiler shares his opinions about how starting with and understanding gifts of team members can has an impact on the way we learn and grow.

In January, I identified four distinctions that I think are important to leading successfully in 2024 and beyond. The first of the four is "Gifts before strengths and skills." But why should we put gifts first and what does that mean? In this article, I elaborate on distinction by sharing three personal moments to illustrate the impact of focusing on gifts and highlight how gifts help us to see our uniqueness and act purposefully. What is one moment for you in recent memory where you were giving your gift and doing it well? I'd love to hear from you in the comments. Here's to all of us living with purposeful confidence this in 2024...

"People stay because of culture. People leave because of culture." Perhaps more than most industry professionals, consultants are typically growth-focused: they care about having opportunities to progress and develop, and they want to work in a firm that fosters that mindset. In this week's culture chat snippet with Adam from Innate-ly, we talk about the impact culture can have on attrition, and why it's so instrumental in the consulting industry. #consulting #managementconsulting #culture

This year Innate-ly is proud to be in a select (and first ever) group of Master Facilitator Trainers of the Core Gift Discovery Process. The Core Gift Discovery Process itself is an amazing process qualified coaches can learn to facilitate their clients through to clarity around their purposeful path in life. In this two-day Master Facilitator Certification Training, Master Facilitator Trainers Adam Detwiler, Diane Hewat, and Filippa Araki share with you the depth and body of knowledge that sits behind the Core Gift Discovery process, provide the resources necessary to run the process yourself, and guide you (during the training) to conduct your first Core Gift Discovery Interview with other participants, and to have your Core Gift Interview conducted as well! If you're looking for a way to learn more about this time test approach that leverages ancient wisdom and builds on the emerging science of resilience and positive psychology, join us on March 21 and 22 from 9a-5p virtually (via Zoom).
