As part of improving our services we continue to do more education on improving our assessments and one of the things we looked into were the new standards for Pre Pointe Safety! So what are the new standards to reduce risk of injury with pointe work?

Final touches going into our new space! Very exciting to see it all coming together! Massive shout out to AusPom Projects Pty Ltd for all their hard work over the past 2 weeks and in the planning of this project as well as the boys from Brand Rightt for getting our frosting installed with the quickest turnaround I’ve seen! And of course You Marketing Solutions for the amazing frosting design! 💚

Calf Raise Help 🙌 If you train calf raise for sport, dance or rehab you’ll know it’s more than just one muscle working! If your ankles like to splay out into a sickle shape while rising, try this exercise: Wrap a band securely around something sturdy and your heel To work the peroneal muscles on the outside of the leg and ankle, wrap the band so it’s pulling outwards. This will make you want to pull inwards against it and straighten up during your rise. You can work on 2 legs or just one for progression Give it a try full range or play around Perhaps you only sickle at end range so train your exercises there. Maybe you’re the opposite and start your rise with a sickle then straighten up- so train your rise in early range to help eliminate it Remember: there are no wrong exercises but you can find more optimal variations for you

How I finish up my work day… I’m working on zen-ing out after a long work day by doing this 5min flow. Even when I’m tired and just want to hop into bed, I know I’ll feel better if I just spend 5min stretching out, mobilising my spine and doing some breath work with my movement (then giving Benji a cuddle of course 🥰). Give it a go! You’ll thank yourself! 🧘♀️
