It is widely believed that public policies should reflect the core desires and expectations of voting citizens. The use of #AI comes with unique risks and challenges for government agencies (particularly in the space of ethics and bias). Mitigating these risks and challenges is important, but possible, and will allow agencies to recognise these benefits.      While the potential for efficiency gain is clear, there are inherent challenges to AI applications in the business of government. We could not have put it better ourselves. Last night our Stewards on the Couch series delivered one of its most memorable, as Director-General of Queensland Health Michael Walsh sat down with our President Deidre Mulkerin. This 'steward on steward' format saw two of the state's most respected public leaders delve into the DG's career highs, lows and learnings. With practical wisdom, humility and authenticity, he showed us what a truly diverse and meaningful public purpose career can look like.
