  • JDRF is thrilled to co-host with Philanthropy Australia and Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA) one of the exciting side events to kick off the PA Conference in Adelaide. 🎉 We were delighted to welcome 40 guests for an after-hours viewing of the "Reimagining the Renaissance" exhibition thank to AGSA. • We are pleased to acknowledge a milestone of $1M in grant funding to the Neurosurgical Research Foundation, a JDRF partnership spanning ten years and four projects. Well done to the talented researchers here in SA who are making a difference to patient outcomes for now and the future.

A Decade of Impact: JDRF's $1M Milestone in NRF Research For the past ten years, the James & Diana Ramsay Foundation (JDRF) has been a driving force behind critical research into brain cancer, paediatric head injury, and Parkinson's disease. Since 2013, JDRF's generous funding has exceeded $1 million, spanning four pivotal projects. This unwavering support has propelled our understanding of these diseases and has spurred crucial breakthroughs in their treatment and prevention. In the most recent project, we're pioneering innovative immune-based therapies for the deadliest brain cancer, glioblastoma. Using CAR-T cells, T cells are genetically engineered to combat the cancer. JDRF has pledged $300,000 over three years to support this transformative research led by Associate Professor Lisa Ebert at the Centre for Cancer Biology, University of South Australia. Past projects include vital research on paediatric head injuries and Parkinson's Disease. Dr. Frances Corrigan's work focuses on improving outcomes for head injuries in children, while Associate Professor Lyndsey Collins-Praino is investigating decision-making impairment in PD. NRF is thankful for JDRF's enduring partnership and remains committed to making a positive impact in these critical areas. We are profoundly grateful for JDRF's continued commitment and we look forward to future collaborations to improve the lives of those affected by these conditions. • Our Grants Manager, Kiah Elsworthy not only works on our philanthropic partnerships within the James and Diana Ramsay Foundation, but also helps grow philanthropy outside of the Foundation through her volunteer roles with both Impact100 South Australia and through 10x10 Philanthropy, two of Adelaide’s giving circles. The 10x10 event held mid-October raised $19,000 for three charities and attracted 100 guests, many new to philanthropy. Great work Kiah for your outstanding contribution in fostering the growth of philanthropy through the James and Diana Ramsay Foundation and through your other volunteer roles.
