"Reviving a landmark"... and what a landmark it is! Read about our Metropole Hotel transformation (Page 30-32)

"Before & After", aren't really positions in time for a trade like ours... Hospitality is an around the clock business; we start with a stack of clean plates and end with a stack of clean plates, a clean room returns to being a clean room, one guest leaves and another arrives. This business is not like landscaping or carpentry, you can't always look back at the end of the day and see something you've created that wasn't there when you started. For us, It's a lot less tangible. Very rarely do you get the satisfaction of permanently marking the work you've done and progress you've made. Which is why I love, sitting in our venues! We can recount every moment and every effort it took to create it. Every buster, every barney, every blue we might have had along the way (and every beer to celebrate its completion) helps remind us of how far we've come... If your ever down the Metropole Townsville and you see us, come over and ask, we would be happy to share; Where I busted my thumb, where Ken smashed a window, where James broke his toe... and everything else it took to get this refurb over the line. Was worth every bit of it!

A big milestone was reached at our Mooloolaba project, Thanks to our Kpat Contracting team for bringing us this far. You can now spot us from all around... What was really telling in standing this crane was the turnout of locals. Throughout the day there would have been over 150 locals stop along the footpaths to watch, and the overwhelming response was one of excitement and support; Excitement to see the Sunshine Coast on the move with new projects, excitement for a much-needed purpose-built accommodation, conferencing, dining and entertainment facility in the heart of Mooloolaba and support for an independent, Queensland-rooted and locally minded operator getting in and having a go! We look forward to continuing to bring this much anticipated project to life over the coming months.
