Legacy Club Services is delighted to share that we have been successful in receiving a 2024 CommBank Staff Foundation Community Grant. This $20,000 grant will help two family & youth camps in 2025. Legacy is committed to providing the children of veterans with new opportunities to aid their education and development, like our holiday camps. During the Term 3 school holidays, Sydney Legacy ran a camp for high school students from across NSW at Cataract Scout Camp at Appin. The kids had a great time while participating in various activities that challenged them both physically and mentally. Today is War Widows Day. It's a day to recognise war widows and widowers of members of the Australian Defence Force. Legacy has been and will continue to be there for our widows in their time of need. Our support focuses on advocacy entitlements, combating social isolation, health and safety provisions, providing relief from financial hardship, and more. Channel 7 presenter Mark Beretta has signed up for the Legacy Challenge! 🎉 A member of the Army Reserves himself, he is taking on the challenge to push his fitness limits in support of veterans' families. Meet Legacy Legend Peter! Peter has signed up for the Legacy Challenge this November and has already raised an incredible $1500 to support our veterans’ families. Peter is doing the Challenge in honour of his father, Corporal Lloyd Ellerman(pictured). He was a former Australian prisoner-of-war who risked his life hiding a radio in Japanese-occupied Singapore in World War II. On return to Australia, he dedicated over five decades of service as a volunteer to Legacy. Peter says: “Despite what he endured during that time, he dedicated the next 55 years to helping countless Legacy families as a Legatee.
