What a fantastic event this week at the Bundaberg Bioeconomy Conference. Thank you to the Bundaberg Regional Council for inviting Licella to participate. These events continue to highlight the important role that regional Queensland will play in the future bioeconomy, including the opportunity to help drive a local sustainable fuels industry. I was delighted to share the opportunity for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from agricultural residues through Licella's innovative, Australian developed HTL platform. It was also great to connect with stakeholders from both industry and government, and see the progress already being achieved in the Wide Bay Burnett region towards a bioeconomy. Being among the sugar fields, the macadamia trees, and the pristine coastline, reinforces the need to fiercely protect our incredible environment and regional communities - and it was wonderful to be surrounded by people fighting to do just that. Thanks to the Minister for Industry & Science, The Hon Ed Husic MP, who yesterday announced that the the Solving Plastic Waste CRC was awarded $40M from the Federal Government. Licella are delighted to be part of this CRC, led by Griffith University and involving parties along the plastics value chain. Our part will continue to build on a 16+ year relationship with the University of Sydney towards continued innovation of our pioneering Cat-HTR advanced recycling technology. This CRC demonstrates a shared commitment by industry, research institutes and Government to collaborate and invest in a more sustainable future for plastic.

Licella were delighted to host The Hon Ed Husic MP, Minister for Industry and Science, recently for a tour of our Cat-HTR commercial demonstration facility on the NSW Central Coast. It was an opportunity to showcase our innovative Australian advanced recycling technology and discuss the opportunities to unlock a circular economy for difficult to recycle plastic streams, including soft plastic. We were fortunate to receive Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI) funding towards our first Cat-HTR commercial facility for plastic under Advanced Recycling Victoria. Alongside funding, we discussed the urgent need for regulation to support this emerging industry and set recycled content obligations to create pull through for recycled content, underpin investment in the value chain and in turn, transform more plastic from waste into a circular resource. Our team was super busy in October! From San Francisco to Bundaberg, it was a productive month of participating and presenting at industry events. So, where have we been? 9 Oct - Andrea Polson presented at the annual conference of SPE: A-NZ - Society of Plastics Engineers; Australia-New Zealand Section in Melbourne, on the role of advanced recycling and our Cat-HTR platform. 18 Oct - Andrea also participated in a panel on the Social Impact of Net Zero at SXSW Sydney, hosted by the NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub. 19 Oct - Alan Del Paggio represented Licella and our JV with Canfor, Arbios Biotech at ABLC Next in San Francisco, showcasing our Cat-HTR commercial facility under development in Prince George, Canada. 25 Oct - Victoria Sherwood showcased our Cat-HTR solution at the Bundaberg Bioeconomy Conference and the opportunity for a new industry in Queensland to produce SAF from sugarcane residues. #licella #cathtr #advancedrecycling #SAF #renewablefuels #chemicalrecycling #circulareconomy #HTL #leadership #lowcarboneconomy #sustainability #bioeconomy
