INDUSTRY FEEDBACK: Treasury have advised they are building on the feedback we and other stakeholders provided re: Improving consumer guarantees and supplier indemnification provisions under the Australian Consumer Law. Treasury is now seeking feedback on proposed reforms to strengthen protections for consumers and small businesses under the consumer guarantees and supplier indemnification provisions of the Australian Consumer Law. These reforms include introducing penalties for suppliers that refuse to provide consumers with a remedy such as a repair, replacement or refund when required under law. LCA members are encouraged to review and provide your feedback to dcrossley@lightingcouncil.com.au by 8 November 2024. https://lnkd.in/giTEyERM David Crossley Malcolm R.

Day 7 of the seven-day challenge to acknowledge and celebrate our and our members success. The Lighting Council has been pursuing greater alignment of electrical safety regulation via three core projects; the ACCC/Finance project, Trade/ ANZ regulatory coherence project and the EESS review. These projects should eventually increase regulatory alignment, reduce duplication, compliance costs and commercial risks and increase the productivity and safety of the Australian lighting market. A big thank you to the team and all our members who actively give their time to participate on sub-industry groups, aimed at improving the quality and safety within our industry. LCA provides members a voice, a seat at the table to have their views heard on matters that impact our industry. DAY 5. SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE, one post a day for seven days celebrating all the hard work of the Lighting Council Australia (LCA) and our members over the last 12 months. Success. The Lighting Council made submissions to AEMO and the AEMC outlining the benefits of smart street lighting and the need for regulatory reform in this area. These new rules will benefit communities and asset owners, as lights can be dimmed or brightened to suit weather conditions, support animal corridors and more. This will generate energy savings when street lights are dimmed. Savings should flow down to reduce our electricity bills. Celebrating all our Standards representatives, members who participate in Sub-Industry Groups and those who provide feedback when requested.
