Light Regional Council is a diverse region that encompasses a significant portion of the iconic ‘#Barossa”, prime agricultural land, the which also encompasses the iconic, historic townships and settlements of Kapunda, Freeling, Wasleys and Greenock, and the rapidly expanding developments suburbs of Hewett in and around Roseworthy. With a focus on sustainable growth for the community within its environmental and financial means, the region is located approximately an hour’s drive from the #Adelaide CBD, with connectors including the Northern Expressway, Gawler Bypass, and the Thiele Highway. Reporting to a strongly highly engaged #CEO, and part of a collaborative Executive Leadership Team, this diverse role will oversee the #Finance, Organisational Development and Information Systems Services Teams. With highly developed written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to pivot between hands on and strategic functions, this role will appeal to an experienced, aspiring leader ready for their first GM role, or a seasoned professional looking for an exciting broad role close to the action and community. Today, RDABGLAP and the City of Playford co-hosted a study tour, giving council representatives a firsthand look at community planning and infrastructure across key growth areas in City of Playford. Travelling by bus, participants observed housing diversity—from single and double-storey homes to townhouses and apartments—and explored floodplain planning techniques, community landscaping, and green spaces that contribute to vibrant communities. The tour included stops at Riverlea, St Andrews, and other key development sites, with discussions highlighting how thoughtful planning supports sustainable growth.
