Today our book turns 4 🎂.
It feels like such bittersweet news to share, given that my co-author Nicole Johnston 💙 passed away five months ago. It's not the happy day we've marked the last three years, but I owe it to her to keep sharing these stories, especially as the #linkedinlocal movement continues to thrive.
I picked up a copy of the book today to take this photo, and a handwritten note card from Nicole fell out, a signed author card we'd organised for those who bought the books in person. It felt like a special reminder from her.
People always ask me, "How's your book going?" Much more than any other project, I sometimes forget I wrote one! Books take a lot of work to keep them in memories, on reading lists and generating sales. This was more a book of stories rather than a teaching book— the best kind.
It most certainly wasn't a bestseller, but I am still enormously proud of the work we put into it, and I know Nicole is as well. Thanks to those who have a part of it and those who have supported it by buying copies, sharing reviews, etc.
Happy book-birthday LinkedIn Local, and may your communities continue to shine ✨.
