To conclude our International Women’s Day spotlights, we are delighted to feature another exceptional woman from the Linkforce community. Meet Sara, Bus Driver at Linkforce. Her journey emphasises the importance of having the courage and confidence to pursue your dreams. Background: Sara began her career at Linkforce in 2017 as a bus driver and trades assistant, bringing with her five years of experience as a bus driver. Her transition to Linkforce was a natural fit, allowing her to continue her passion for driving and customer service in a new environment. Recently, Sara was honoured with Linkforce’s “Living Our Values” incentive program award, a testament to her patience, leadership, and unwavering dedication. Inspiration and Advice: Sara was drawn to transport and logistics by her love for customer service, meeting new people, and the thrill of driving large buses. She encourages young women to seize opportunities and be courageous in the pursuit of their goals. “If young women want the opportunities to drive large equipment and transport, it is important to have the courage to give it a go. Never limit your desire to achieve," she advises. Recognition: Joshua Waterhouse, Regional Manager, praises Sara’s exceptional work ethic and problem-solving abilities. He states, "Sara is regarded by both Linkforce and our clients as someone for whom no task or challenge is ever too hard. She joined us at a time when we were needing someone capable of working directly with the client to coordinate bus schedules for major shutdowns. Sara took immediate ownership of this role, resolving a lot of the issues that had been recurring. The position became a consistent requirement for future shutdowns, given how well she set it up and executed it." Sara’s story shows that with the right mindset and belief, extraordinary achievements are within reach. Let's continue to celebrate and uplift the women making a difference in our industry. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #WomenInMining

Continuing our celebration of International Women’s Day, we are excited to highlight another inspiring woman from within the Linkforce community. Meet Melissa, Learning & Development Coordinator at Workforce Training Centre, Linkforce’s Registered Training Organisation. Her journey highlights the transformative power of providing opportunity. Background: Melissa began her career at Linkforce six years ago in the Compliance department. After attending a Link2Opportunity (L2O) graduation, she fell in love with the program and was determined to be a part of it. Landing her dream role, Melissa has been coordinating the L2O Program for four years, providing a secure, structured, and supportive pathway to future employment opportunities. Impact and Advice: Melissa is driven by the profound impact the L2O Program has on participants’ lives, as well as those of their families and communities. She shares stories of individuals who have gone from having no home while completing the program to renting or buying beautiful, safe spaces for their families. Over the past year, the L2O Program has seen a record number of female applicants, and Melissa hopes this trend continues to grow. Her advice to young women is to always advocate for themselves, step outside their comfort zones, and seek out opportunities that align with their passions. Challenges and Achievements: Melissa's toughest challenge is gaining respect and trust from individuals who have faced difficult times. She feels her deepest sense of achievement when these individuals begin to let their walls down, and she takes great pride in gaining the trust of those who have never had someone they could rely on before. Recently, Melissa was awarded Linkforce’s Living Our Values award in recognition of her incredible work with the L2O Program. She says, “I was incredibly honoured to be acknowledged and celebrated by the Linkforce community”. Melissa’s story reveals the impact one can have through dedication to supporting others. Let's continue to celebrate and uplift the women making a difference in our industry. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #WomenInMining

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we are shining a spotlight on some of the incredible women within the Linkforce community. To kick things off, meet Paola, Project Manager at Linkforce. Her journey exemplifies the power of perseverance, resilience, and breaking barriers. Background: Paola, a petroleum engineer from Colombia, started at Linkforce eight years ago as a Projects Admin. She transitioned to Operations, advancing to Shutdown Supervisor, and later moved to Projects Planning. Her passion for new challenges led her back to the site for her first mining project as an engineer. Today, she is a Project Manager on Fixed Plant Projects, proudly embracing the challenges and growth opportunities her role has to offer. Inspiration and Advice: Paola is driven by the desire to break stereotypes and pave the way for future generations of women in male-dominated industries. She advises young women to take risks, trust their instincts, and surround themselves with supportive individuals. “It's better to know what happened than to live with the question ‘what if?’. I took my first jump 12 years ago when I came to Australia, and I am still jumping,” she says. Future of Women in the Industry: Paola envisions a future with more women in leadership roles in the oil, gas, and mining industries. She believes in the collective efforts of both women and men to foster inclusion and break stereotypes. “I do believe we are on a good path, and I hope I am helping to keep pushing in that direction,” she adds. Paola’s story is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through determination and support. Let's continue to celebrate and uplift the women making a difference in our industry. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #WomenInMining

Earlier this month, we marked NAIDOC Week with various activities at our Registered Training Organisation Workforce Training Centre WA (WTC WA), located in Kewdale on Whadjuk Noongar Country. The theme of the event was - Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud and aimed to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
