About us

LocalKind Northern Beaches (formerly Community Northern Beaches) has worked tirelessly for over 40 years on behalf of the people of Sydney's northern beaches. Originally the Manly Community Centre, this community based charity offers a range of core services and also accommodates a number of third party providers who focus on delivering free or low cost services to the most marginalised and disadvantaged members of the community. A vibrant, well established hub, LocalKind has a deserved reputation for offering targeted early intervention and face to face services to help build a more resilient and healthy community. Services include Homelessness and Domestic/Family Violence support, Family and Child/Early Intervention, Migrant support, Volunteering services and Venue/Hall hire.

I will be running or maybe walking 😂 at the Beach2Beach Fun Run, depending on how those stale muscles will cope on the day, in support of LocalKind Northern Beaches. Let's raise some $$$s to provide much needed basics and services to the homeless and the most vulnerable in our community. Any donations, big or small, will help us assist those who need us the most: https://lnkd.in/g5__Eg5z

We need to feel acknowledged. All of us. Including those who are homeless and struggling with life's unforeseen circumstances. Being respectfully acknowledged means you are seen by another, you exist, you matter. Local Kind is a local charity that I have actively supported since starting my business Pencil Box Marketing two years ago. As a supporter, I offer up my time and help them bring their events to life. This time round, Local Kind thanked their volunteers and supporters with a fun event at Ruby Lane, Manly (and big thanks to owner Phil Dawson who generously provided amazing eats and friendly staff). The audience felt acknowledged! Thank you 🌻 Daniel Fields Craig Stevens - MICDA Sook Smith

Understanding the impact of the volunteers we recruit on the organisations and communities they're supporting is a crucial way for tekFoundation to measure its success. We're thrilled to get this feedback from Daniel Fields with LocalKind Northern Beaches on the impact that volunteer Nicola E. had! Thank you so much Nic for agreeing to volunteer your time in support of LocalKind and their Shop for Good Weekend event! 🎉 https://lnkd.in/gA5D7S8s

During this event, participating businesses pledge a percentage of their sales to support LocalKind’s charitable efforts in serving vulnerable and at-risk individuals. By shopping at these businesses, patrons contribute to causes such as domestic and family violence support, homelessness assistance, refugee aid, youth programs, and more. It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, make a positive impact, and create a culture of kindness and community support. 🛒🌟 Visit the Shop for Good page to plan your shopping journey May 17 - 18 and give back to your community: https://lnkd.in/ef9iJu2a Manly Observer The Tawny Frogmouth Hello Manly 7th Day Brewery AHHA Jewelry ALOHA MANLY STYLE Budgy Smuggler Manly Food Co-operative Broken Bay Brewing Co. Amazing event last night @opforchange in Manly supporting a wonderful local Charity helping women escaping domestic violence. LocalKind Northern Beaches. It was truly wonderful to see so many people join and support this event and the charity. We also had a silent Auction for Art that was kindly donated by local Northern Beaches Artists. I was overjoyed by the success of this event and all thanks to our supportive community. #artforcharity #artdonated #artforall #community

  • https://lnkd.in/gVXC4-ze On 20 March 2024, Anthony D'Adam MLC gave a Private Members' Statement to the NSW Legislative Council on LCSA’s Pre-Budget Submission. He highlights the tireless work of neighbourhood and community centres during the COVID-19 pandemic, recent natural disasters and the current cost-of-living crisis. Anthony calls on the NSW Government to fund social infrastructure in NSW by investing in neighbourhood and community centres. Indeed LocalKind recognises our role as an LCSA member in providing such services. https://lnkd.in/gVXC4-ze

  • Our Storeroom is low on stock and needs donations. Many people drop in to our centre facing homelessness, crisis, need for food aid, or come in from social housing. Our store room is like a mini store that is stocked with community donations which can then be provided to those in need. Recently, when clients come in, our volunteers are finding empty shelves or slim pickings to offer.
