Our CEO, Truckin’ Through the Outback! Who needs Outback Truckers when you’ve got our very own CEO behind the wheel? Tevita Topui has swapped his desk for a driver’s seat, donning his best bluey and “trucker look” as he makes the nearly 3500 km journey from Ballarat to Perth. Fully loaded with all the essentials to build a state-of-the-art test center (and maybe a few extra snacks for the road), he’s proving that no task is too small—or too far—for Lateral Plains Events to deliver. When it comes to getting the job done, Tevita’s not just steering the company—he’s steering the truck! 🚛

🚚 No Task is Too Small When We’re All in This Together 🚛 In business, there’s no room for ego, and absolutely nothing is “beneath” any of us. Jensen Huang’s words, “You cannot show me a task that is beneath me,” hit home because that’s how we operate at Lateral Plains Events Channeling our inner Outback Truckers—minus the cameras and dramatic soundtrack (though here on the Nullarbor definitely sets the scene). I’m now nearly 2000 km into the trip from Ballarat (VIC) to Perth and have stopped for the night. The truck is loaded with everything we need to build a full test center: biometric and identification scanning systems, advanced security, AI-enabled CCTV, IT equipment, hardware, software, building signage, pens, paper, markers, tape—you name it, we’ve got it. From the smallest detail to the biggest setup, we’re managing the end-to-end delivery of high-scale computer-based tests. This isn’t just transporting equipment (particularly when most freight companies we spoke to couldn’t meet our deadline); it’s about crafting an environment where critical projects can run seamlessly—even with the toughest timelines. We’re always ready to hit the road (literally) to deliver for our clients. It’s a long haul, but when it comes to delivering for our clients, we’re never running on empty—both in fuel and in determination. A huge thank you to our incredible team members across Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, and, in a matter of days, Western Australia. Your hard work, collaboration, and dedication make it all possible. This is the kind of teamwork that inspires me to keep on trucking (OK, that’s the last pun… maybe). ⚫🟡🔴 NATIONAL SORRY DAY - May 26 🖤💛❤ Today is National Sorry Day. It is a day to recognize the children who were forcibly separated from their families. Many of those families were never reconciled, and many of whose members are still alive today, carrying the pain and trauma of those experiences. On the anniversary of the Bringing Them Home Report, it is deeply concerning that nearly 30 years later, the majority of its recommendations have yet to be fully implemented. This ongoing neglect underscores the importance of meaningful action and genuine reconciliation. As someone of Indigenous heritage with roots in both our proud Torres Strait Islander communities and beyond, I stand in solidarity with all First Peoples. Today is not just a day of reflection but also a call to action. It is a reminder of the pressing need for a Treaty—an opportunity to ensure that decisions about First Peoples are always made by First Peoples rather than by politicians who claim to know what is best for our cultures and communities. On behalf of Lateral Plains Events Pty Ltd and its staff, we thank you for your heartfelt support and commitment to the journey of healing, justice, and reconciliation.
