Exciting progress at Tropicana! 💥 We're proud to be part of the next chapter with the first blast for the Havana underground portal earlier this month, for our valued clients AngloGold Ashanti and Regis Resources. Having previously developed Tropicana’s first underground mine at Boston Shaker in 2020, we're thrilled to support the growth of the project with gold production from the first stope at Havana expected in 2027. Meet Matt, a valued member of our production team at Byerwen. "I’ve been working as a dump truck 🚛 and water cart 💧 operator at the Byerwen Mine with Macmahon for 10 months now, and I’m really enjoying both the role and the site here in Queensland 🌞. I’m currently part of the pump crew, working on dewatering the site. Coming from a completely different background as an ex-glazier, this has been a big career shift for me, but it’s one I’m really happy with 👍. I love driving, and I look forward to the journey from Airlie Beach 🌴 to the site. Staying in the onsite camp has also been a positive lifestyle change that I’ve come to enjoy. Macmahon has provided me with a fantastic career opportunity to better myself, and I’m always encouraging others to join the team 🤝. The training here is top-notch 💪—I’ve completed a lot already and am currently going through all-rounder training. I’m excited about learning to operate the truck loader and civil digger soon 🚜.
