Craig recently attended the Indigenous Business Connect morning tea at Broncos Leagues Club. It was an opportunity to connect with other First Nation businesses and highlight the innovation and diversity of these businesses from Brisbane to Ipswich. It was lovely to catch up with Sarah Prest from the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning

Being invited to and participating in the celebration of First Nations’ contributions to Queensland’s economy was a genuine privilege. This event showcased the robust businesses that are not only employing people but also driving innovation and actively conducting their operations throughout the state. This occasion provided an excellent chance to reconnect with fellow businesses, share anecdotes, and enjoy some laughter. It was a true honour to be in the company of other remarkable business owners. The overarching theme seeks to motivate the next generation of First Nations business leaders and their allies to take action immediately, thereby increasing the demand for goods and services from First Nations. The launch of the Queensland Indigenous Business Network (QIBN) was an inspiring part of the celebration. It’s always a pleasure meeting and drawing inspiration from our fellow entrepreneurs, who epitomise Black excellence, is always a great experience.
