Driving research and innovation to support success in the Mallee.

About us

The Centre's footprint encompasses the Mildura Rural City Council and Swan Hill City Council areas and has staffed offices in Mildura. The Centre plans to drive research and innovation through collaboration across these regions, focusing on the horticulture, environment, energy and water sectors. The Mallee Regional Innovation Centre (MRIC) is a joint partnership between the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University, to combine the world-leading research capabilities of both institutions via an Academic Panel. The Mallee-based SuniTAFE is also a partner of MRIC and will deliver training to address emerging skill requirements in the horticulture sector. The Centre will prioritise research projects that address key challenges for the regions, pairing in-depth knowledge of the local area and leveraging local leadership and expertise through the Strategic Advisory Panel.
