About us
Man Anchor was created in May 2017 with the hope to promote positive change in the way men addresses health and in particular, mental health. Over the years, Man Anchor has grown into a movement that supports both male and female mental well-being through education and awareness, with the launch of Woman Anchor in 2019. We believe that through our education and awareness programs we can empower the community to create positive change and a sustainable model to support the well-being of our friends, family and the wider community. At Man Anchor, we want to educate and empower the community to have tools to support their own well-being and that of the wider community. In Australia one in five (20%) Australians aged 16-85 experience a mental illness in any year. 45% of Australians will live with a mental health disorder in their lifetime. Suicide is the leading cause of death in males aged between 16-44. We at Man Anchor believe its imperative that all Australians have a basic understating of mental health, the signs and symptoms and how to support a loved one if faced with a mental illness.

Holistic Health for Men: 5 Simple Steps to Thrive. In today's busy world, it's crucial for men and let’s be honest all of us to prioritise our well-being across various aspects of life. Here are my five simple steps to support physical, emotional, mental, social, and financial health. 1. Physical Health Incorporate regular exercise into your daily routine, even if it's just a brisk walk or quick home workout, you don’t need to run a marathon. Prioritise a balanced diet, ensuring you have a variety of nutrients to fuel your body. 2. Emotional Health Cultivate emotional intelligence by acknowledging and expressing your feelings. Establish a support network of friends or family with whom you can share your thoughts and concerns. Consider activities like meditation to promote emotional well-being. 3. Mental Health Practice mindfulness to stay present and manage stress. Take breaks to clear your mind and engage in activities that bring you joy. If needed, seek professional help to address any mental health concerns without hesitation. 4. Social Health Nurture relationships with friends and family. Stay connected through regular communication, whether it's a phone call, video chat, or in-person meetings. A strong social network can provide emotional support during challenging times. 5. Financial Health With the cost of living increasing for all of us, putting together a simple budget to manage your finances effectively can reduce pressure and build clarity. Plan for the future, and make informed financial decisions. Seek advice from financial experts and those in your world you trust to ensure long-term stability. By building these simple steps into your daily life, you can create a foundation for holistic health, allowing you to thrive physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and financially. Remember, small changes can lead to significant improvements in your overall well-being. With today being International Mens Health Day it’s important to remember the most important aspects of our life is our individual health. 1, 2, 3…Health is Health Man Anchor #anchorhealthgroup #together #mentalhealth #health #suicideprevention #mentalfitness #change #internationalmensday2023 #workplacewellbeing #workplaceculture #healthishealth Gotcha4Life Foundation HeadAboveWater
