We are pleased to welcome Martin Rowe to the MNC team. Martin has worked as an independent actuarial consultant for the last 20+ years and specialises in financial modelling and process reengineering across many different system and software environments. He is particularly experienced in IFRS17 and ALM modelling. Originally from New Zealand, Martin enjoys skiing and is also an accomplished poker player. Interesting announcement from Jim Chalmers on reforms for the retirement phase at the ASFA conference today: 1. Independent guidance - to help uplift members’ knowledge via improvements to the Moneysmart website 2. Reform of regulations affecting innovation in retirement products - e.g. to allow money-back guarantees and instalment payments 3. Defined best practice and voluntary principles to apply to superannuation/retirement 4. Increased transparency through a new reporting framework on member outcomes from 2027 APRA/ASIC to provide a “pulse check” report on funds’ progress by end of 2025 Changes to be delivered in tandem with the financial advice reforms. #superannuation #retirement #insurance #actuaries Looking forward to seeing more of the detail……

It's not often you get to meet someone as forward-thinking as Google's former Chief Decision Scientist, Cassie Kozyrkov who delivered an amazing presentation today at #AICon2024 hosted by the Actuaries Institute.
