Maxme's Eugene Fedorchenko LL.M. spoke on the 'Ethical use of AI for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion' panel discussion at ISACA Melbourne Chapter's Conference 'Beyond Tomorrow: Technology, Process & People' last week. His key insights include: ❇️ Build simple use cases on a small data sets with high quality ❇️ Data is historically generated by humans, therefore we need to address social impact matters like #DEI in the physical world first (before applying to AI) in order to avoid bias ❇️ AI adoption isn’t another budget for a project, it’s an ongoing self awareness exercise of the organisation - and one that starts with you. Thank you to Natalie Hingco Perez & Mangala Prasetia Wen (温明 / मङ्गल) for having us, and a privilege to share the stage with fellow panelists Rifat Ara Shams | Dr Susan Entwisle | Aden Vaughan-Williams 🏳️🌈 Keep the conversation going with our upcoming (complimentary) masterclass: Optimising for AI by Harnessing Human 📅 Thursday 12 September 🕐 12:30 - 1:30pm AEST 📍 https://lnkd.in/gHrX5Q3p #genai #humanskills #softskills #futureofwork

It's always a thrill when you talk to someone about their work, and their first response is, "I love my job! I get to manage one of the most incredible teams" This is exactly where we started with Naomi Driver (née Morton), General Manager, Marketing for Bupa. Naomi was certain she was going to be a Child Psychologist, but like so many of us, what we were certain of at school wasn't where we ended up in life. Self-awareness (foundational throughout human skills) is clearly what set Naomi up for success: "I think my curiosity in human behaviour set up the foundation for me to be successful in marketing." Her careers has spanned the likes of MECCA Brands, Momentum Energy, and Powershop Australia, and "the move to Bupa has seen a real alignment of head and heart passion. Working in health has been such an awesome experience." Thank you for stepping into the spotlight Naomi, and for sharing your insight and advice. #Successishuman #bupahealth #bupa #softskills https://lnkd.in/g6URRjx6

#Curiosity fuels a person's drive to learn and grow. This important trait can have a huge effect on an individual's performance on the job. When a curious person faces a challenge, they're likely to ask insightful questions, create fresh ideas, and look at things from a new angle. “Leaders in government, business or academia must cultivate a multidisciplinary mindset. We should really remain generalists and curious about many things.” Rafał Kierzenkowski Head of the Strategic Foresight Unit, Office of the Secretary-General, OECD - OCDE The 2025 Skills Horizon shows the importance of 'The Curious Leader.' Full report: https://lnkd.in/giq3-tSe Loved these insights from local & global leaders: “Remain curious. Always be open for new things, for new trends, meeting people and listening to them with an open mind. As leaders, not taking for granted that what we have learnt throughout a long career is necessarily going to be valid two or five years from now.” Morten Wierod CEO, ABB “Leaders are responsible for creating environments that are open to new ideas –creating environments that are more porous to new ideas. Many organisations are insular, but given the speed of information flows today, it is essential that we are all much more open and having an attitude of continual learning.” David Thodey AO, FTSE Chancellor, University of Sydney “We should have cultures of curiosity in which people are able to ask, why do we do this? Because curious people won't accept that something's done just because everyone does it.” Dr Simon Longstaff AO Executive Director, The Ethics Centre

What are human skills? Sometimes called ‘soft skills’, human skills are the non-technical skills that aren’t typically taught as part of a curriculum but allow us to function at our optimum. They work in tandem with your technical skills, and are foundational in your success. We’re talking about skills like self awareness, communication, creative thinking, and resilience. Human skills are in high demand from employers because they’re the skills that fuel innovation, adaptability, creativity and happiness in the workplace. And, when harnessed, will help you stand out to employers and thrive in your future career. #selfawareness #softskills #success

"Companies are increasingly prioritizing candidates who demonstrate emotional intelligence, adaptability, and strong communication skills alongside technical proficiencies. This shift doesn’t mean technical skills are obsolete—far from it. The ideal future worker will combine domain expertise with strong soft skills, leveraging both human and AI to drive innovation and solve complex problems." Wise and insightful words from Kermit S. Randa. We see the positive impact on developing human skills every day. Fast Company #softskills #futureofwork #careermatters https://lnkd.in/gRv7F2Ms
