Earlier in the week we held the 2024 MOW AGM. It was a wonderful event where we could celebrate the incredible work our services do throughout the year. Thank you to those services who attended! At the AGM we also thanked outgoing Board members Chris Watt, Ditte Kozak, and Julie Logan, who had all been with Meals on Wheels NSW for nine years. Their input and support has been invaluable to the organisation.

Our friends at Meals on Wheels America are currently experiencing waitlists, with 1 in 3 of their services having to waitlist seniors. Their video highlights how as a society we don't accept having to wait for things like being served in a restaurant, or for a taxi... why should meals for seniors be any different? In NSW, services such as IC Care have had to turn away individuals for Meals on Wheels, an issue facing roughly 10% of services on the East Coast of Australia. We need to do better for our seniors.

The final 2024 Aged Care Reforms Survey for Older People will be closing in two weeks on the 18th of October.
