Today is R U OK? Day. It’s a reminder to check in with our friends, family, and colleagues. A simple conversation can make a world of difference. This year’s theme, ‘R U OK? Any Day’, emphasizes that every day is an opportunity to ask, listen, and support those around us. Let’s create a culture where everyone feels safe to share their feelings and seek support. Remember, it’s okay to not be okay. Reach out, listen, and show you care. #ruokday2024 #ruokanyday #mentalhealthmatters #supporteachother #wearemidcity

Throughout June, three of our Midcity Group team members, Jessica, Alexander and Karl A. have joined over 216,000 Australians taking on ‘The Push-Up Challenge’. Their mission? To complete 3,249 push-ups between 5-28 June to raise awareness and funds to support vital mental health services and initiatives across Australia. 💪 Why 3,249 push-ups? That’s the number of people who tragically lost their lives to suicide in Australia in 2022. By completing this challenge, they’re standing up for those who can’t. 🔥 Burnout at work: A 2022 report by Microsoft’s Work Trends Index revealed that 62% of Australians experience burnout at work—1.29 times the global average. Mental health matters, and it’s time to keep the conversation going. 🤝 Support the team: Jessica, Alex and Karl have each completed well over 1,700 push-ups. They’re almost there! Just a few thousand more to go. 😰 If you’d like to contribute, check out their donation links below: Jessica Keohane: https://lnkd.in/gUmpAkS7 Alexander Veneros: https://lnkd.in/gkbGpKB4 Karl Allen: https://lnkd.in/g2UdDdm4 🔗 Learn more: Visit The Push-Up Challenge website - https://lnkd.in/eGDrgPm - to understand the impact of your donation or explore how you can participate. Our parent company, OCS Australia & New Zealand has released its 2023 Australia and New Zealand ESG Report. The report highlights OCS sustainability efforts across three core sustainability pillars – Environment, Social and Governance. It includes a number of highlights from our Midcity business, including our 4th year of achieving Toitū Envirocare net carbonzero certification, our expansion into Victoria – which provided some challenges in terms of meeting our carbon reduction commitments – and our commitment to our people through robust leadership development. Committed to continuous improvement and meeting our ESG commitments, being part of this report holds us to account and ensures we stay on track. We are proud of these achievements and many others highlighted in the report – both helping to future-proof our business and adding value to our customers, all while ensuring the best for our people and planet. 🌏 You can you read the full 2023 OCS Australia & New Zealand ESG Report on our website. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g-q8XdZH

This morning, Midcity hosted an ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’ event for the Midcity and OCS Australia teams (including the Midcity management teams from NSW and VIC) to raise funds for those who have been affected by cancer. Almost 1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85 so it was a great opportunity to get both the OCS and Midcity teams together and to fundraise for such a worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who attended – your generosity is appreciated. Guided by our TRUE Values, we're on a mission to make people and places the best they can be and this is just one way we are able to contribute to the lives of so many who are affected by cancer. Every dollar raised makes an incredible difference. Together, we can help Cancer Council raise much-needed funds for vital cancer research, support services, prevention programs, and advocacy. We really appreciate receiving feedback from our satisfied customers – it’s a testament to our expertise and commitment to being the best. We recently tackled termite damage on Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre, Courts 5 and 6, transforming the space with new termite-proof flooring — a robust concrete slab designed to support heavy loads, including trucks, to ensure durability and long-term safety. Thank you to the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre General Manager, Luke Hepburn, for sharing some great feedback with us below! “Working with Midcity on the recent renovation of our community indoor recreation centre was an exceptional experience that exceeded all expectations. Their deep understanding of the unique challenges of community-based projects, and their commitment to excellence and safety, set the stage for a project that not only met but surpassed our envisioned goals. “Their initiative to find cost-effective solutions without compromising quality led to a fantastic outcome, made possible through seamless collaboration with local contractors and a keen focus on maintaining project momentum, even through the demanding Christmas period. This dedication ensured the timely restoration of our indoor courts, a critical asset for the Penrith community, highlighting Midcity's exceptional project management skills and their understanding of the project's importance to community sport. “Our experience with Midcity has been profoundly positive, leaving a lasting impression on our community and underscoring our enthusiastic recommendation of Midcity for any construction endeavour that seeks a team deeply invested in community values and delivering exceptional results.” Pictured left to right: Nathan Texiera (Midcity), Glenn Amies (Midcity), Chris Dutch (Midcity), Luke Hepburn (PVRSC), Kim Murphy (PRVSC), Trent Stokes (Stantec Engineers). #MidcityGroup #CommercialConstruction #PVRSC #BasketballNSW #Penrithcouncil
