  • Lorenzo and team seizing the chance to step out of the office and broaden their knowledge! ☀️

Civil Engineer, Capital Works, Development Works, Water & Sewer Infrastructure, Learning and Development

It’s not where you work, it’s who you work with that makes the difference. Last week, we took some time out of the office, visiting sites to look at different sewer systems (like vacuum and low-pressure sewers) and water devices like Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs) and backflow prevention devices. The goal? To give our team like Maria (Admin) and Osama (Graduate Engineer) real world context. It was an amazing learning experience for us all, myself included. A huge thank you to Dan Murray for generously sharing his expertise. I walked away with a richer understanding of our network and it was clear how beneficial a few hours outside learning with your peers can be! What really stood out to me was the attitude I continue to see in our team every day, with even the small sentences like: 👉 “I don’t know, but I’ll find out.” 👉 “Can I help you with that?” 👉 “Great idea, let’s give it a try!” I’m so grateful to work with people who are always ready to learn and support each other. Shoutout to the managers within MidCoast Council that continue to promote a safe, learning culture within the organisation.
