We recently had the pleasure of attending the Western Australia Airway Group Conference in Bali, where the discussions on the latest techniques in the management of a difficult airway during operating procedures were fascinating. During the 3-day conference, notable workshops included Can’t Intubate & Can’t Oxygenate, Paediatric Airway Emergencies, One Lung Ventilation and dealing with a Difficult Airway. Key highlights were a presentation on Adult Airway Emergencies – Management Tips, Macroglossia and the Airway and Video laryngoscopy – Have We Crossed the Rubicon where the increasing emphasis on the growing importance of using video laryngoscopy in all routine cases was discussed.
