Space to Create III will provide First Nations creatives at all levels with studio space, mentoring and production support that will be delivered in partnership with the The Australian National University’s School of Music and the Yil Lull (‘To Sing’) recording studio. The program is open to emerging to established First Nations musicians, artists, songwriters, audio engineers, producers and those employed in the music industry. Music Australia is a part of Creative Australia. We invest in, support and promote the Australian contemporary music industry to increase discoverability and develop markets and audiences. Our goal is to stimulate a vibrant and sustainable music industry ecosystem in which artists can thrive. Music Australia aims to: • grow the market for contemporary Australian music • increase development of original music through investment in artistic creation • deliver song writing and recording initiatives in schools • develop new strategic partnerships within and beyond the music sector, including to undertake research and data collection around key issues, including festivals and venues • provide ongoing support for Sounds Australia – Australia’s export music market development initiative • support industry professionals to learn business and management skills provide central coordination around access to live music venues for bands and solo artists • develop new co-investment agreements with states, territories and industry to deliver national sector-wide priorities, and • create Community Music Hubs in high density living areas.

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts has just announced the recipients of their Revive Live funding program 👏 $7.7 million in grants will support 110 live music organisations, including 61 music festivals, and 49 live music venues, to continue their operations. The grants announced today will support live music in regional, remote and metropolitan areas across the country, reflecting a diverse range of genres, organisations and audiences including First Nations, LGBTQI+, and all age events. Applications are now open for the AIR (Australian Independent Record Labels Association) Member Mentoring Program ⭐ AIR Label and Distributor Members can apply to the program to receive professional development and mentoring sessions for themselves as business owners or for any of their staff to enable career and leadership progression pathways, including digital marketing, strategic decision making, financial literacy, HR and effective communication strategies. Successful applicants will then be grouped by areas of interest and undertake professional development and mentoring in those areas. First Sounds is back for 2025! 🎵 Thanks to a new collaboration with Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and Gadigal Information Service/Koori Radio, First Sounds will continue to amplify First Nations voices, songs and stories to community radio listeners across the country. The relaunched initiative will feature two curated compilations of emerging First Nations talent, to be released over a six-month period on amrap.org.au, mailed to community broadcasters and promoted through dedicated marketing campaigns. 🔗 First Nations artists from anywhere in the country can submit their details and radio-ready songs here: https://lnkd.in/gs3_rKFv

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Music Australia Core Contribution Fund 🎯 Our new funding initiative is designed to support the core operations for Australian organisations providing services to the contemporary music industry. Offering grants of up to $140,000, the Music Australia Core Contribution Fund will provide eligible organisations with a two-year investment to strengthen core operations and staffing, ultimately building stability and capacity within the Australian contemporary music sector.
