Empowering and connecting artists and industry

About us

MusicNSW is the state music body in NSW. We are a not-for-profit organisation, funded by Create NSW. MusicNSW empowers and connects artists and industry. We do this through a range of programs and services, including FEEDBACK, Levels and Sound Advice. MusicNSW believes that a sustainable and thriving music community in NSW is essential for telling the stories of our people. Music gives voice to our existence, enriches our lives, shows us who we are, and brings our communities together. Enabling musicians to share our many stories with the world is the core value underpinning our activities. MusicNSW’s programs and services empower and develop our music communities so that diverse NSW artists and industry can thrive locally, across Australia, and internationally.

We're excited to be working alongside our friends at MusicNSW to deliver a landmark research project for Sound NSW. Access and inclusion in live music for young people is critically important to the health of our industry, and for the strength of our local communities. We'll be delivering detailed analysis and a best practice guide to tackle some of the barriers that prevent young people from accessing live music in NSW. MusicNSW are holding a series of roundtables to hear from musicians, producers, venues, programmers and young people across New South Wales throughout September. If you'd like to learn more about the research, head to https://lnkd.in/gpCsm5iB

We are thrilled to welcome Ricky Simandjuntak, Kelly Hellmrich, Maeve Grant and Cody Munro Moore to the MusicNSW team. Ricky Simandjuntak joins us as Program Manager. Ricky is most widely known as the former artist manager of Western Sydney’s ONEFOUR. He has also worked with Sampa the Great and The Kid Laroi and is widely respected across the industry. As a senior member of the team, Ricky will lead development of our programs and resources to support artist development and industry career pathways. Ricky will also oversee our three new Coordinators based in Western Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, respectively: Kelly Hellmrich (Camp Cope, Bad Apples Music), Maeve Grant (Gumnut Artists) and Cody Munro Moore (Stranded Recording Studio, Dinosaur City Records, Illawarra Folk Festival). “Growing from an existing team of Regional Coordinators, these new appointments will see MusicNSW further embed our statewide presence with boots on the ground in Newcastle, Wollongong and Western Sydney for the first time in our history. We’ve seen the impact that locally-based coordinators can have on music communities and I have no doubt that the collective knowledge, passion and experience of our incoming team members will be invaluable as they work closely to support artist and industry development in a direct and nuanced way.” “I am thrilled also to welcome Ricky Simandjuntak to the team as Program Manager. Ricky will lead these new team members and drive program delivery across our organisation. Ricky brings an immense wealth of experience from his work as an artist manager and brand strategist and will be a huge asset as we continue to strive towards a thriving contemporary music sector in NSW.” - MusicNSW Managing Director Joe Muller This expansion is supported by Sound NSW.
