Did you know McDonald’s is supersizing its commitment to inclusion? The fast food giant employs more than 115,000 people across its 1030 Australian restaurants and, through a new partnership with Australian Disability Network, they have worked on identifying unintended barriers to inclusive recruitment, reviewed offices and outlets to improve accessibility and provided disability confidence training to managers and teams. The result? They’ve already employed 80 new skilled employees - well exceeding the target of 25 new staff. #mcdonaldsinclusive #disabilityemployment #hireability Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g6tGt4UV

Australia's most experienced plan management provider. Here to take the stress out of the NDIS.
About us
My Plan Manager is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) ‘un-complicator’ to tens of thousands of NDIS participants across Australia. Established in 2014, we were the first in the market to do what we do – support people with disability to get the most out of their NDIS plans – and today, we’re the largest and most experienced provider in the country. Our mission is to create an inclusive Australia where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential, and our people recognise that the best outcomes are achieved when we work in partnership with our clients, their support coordinators, and wider networks. Our values centre around being kind, genuine, innovative and inclusive, and drive everything we do.

The streets of Adelaide came alive on Saturday for the 2024 National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant - and there was no better place for a birds-eye view of Santa than our offices! We spied these cute reindeer and an elf amongst the sea of staff and children peering out of our windows as the event unfolded below. We're pretty confident this gorgeous quartet will be on the big man in red's 'nice' list when 25 December rolls around (they're certainly on ours!). 🎅 🎁 #ChristmasSpirit #NationalPharmaciesChristmasPageant #MyPlanManager [Image: Four young children, dressed in red and green, with their faces painted as reindeer]

Want a secret weapon business boost for hospitality businesses? Cater to the disability community. "The disability community is so tight-knit, and if we find a venue that is truly inclusive and accessible, we will tell everybody, and there will be lines out your door." That’s the promise of South Australia’s Lily Durkin, who works in access and inclusion for JFA Purple Orange and who has a disability. SA is home to Pavely, an app launched in 2022 by the SA Government which takes on some of the mental load of researching venues that are accessible. What accessibility resources do you recommend? Fun in the sun! On Sunday our team members padded up to take on a team from Blind Cricket SA in a thrilling match that had us all on the edge of our seats! From the first ball to the last, it was a display of skill, determination, and pure love for the game. The Blind Cricket SA team showed us what sportsmanship looks like, with some jaw-dropping catches and powerful batting that left everyone in awe. Blind Cricket SA’s won the toss and the match – winning with a score of 6/169 after 20 overs. MPM team a finished with a respectable score of 8/115 after 20 overs. But it wasn’t just about runs and wickets – instead it was the spirit of camaraderie and the joy of playing together that took home the win! A huge shoutout to everyone who came out to support ❤️ Here’s to more matches, more fun, and more unforgettable moments! #BlindCricket #CricketForAll #TeamSpirit #MyPlanManager #BlindCricketSA #UnforgettableMatch [Images: Images of staff in action playing cricket and both teams in a group shot. Some exciting work is underway to boost employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the disability services sector. With a $2 million grant from the Australian Research Council, a project – led entirely by Aboriginal Chief Investigators – will aim to find ways to attract and recruit more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people into the disability services workforce. The project will focus on Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia and use Indigenous knowledge to create resources to make workplaces more appealing and culturally safe. Did you know carers, many of whom also undertake paid work, contribute nearly $80 billion annually to the Australian economy? With one in eight Australians known to be a carer, almost every workplace includes people caring for parents, siblings, or other family members. That’s why it’s important to get behind @NationalCarersWeek, to celebrate and raise awareness about the vital role carers play in enriching lives and providing essential support. #NationalCarersWeek #SupportCarers #LinkedInCommunity For more information on what support is available for carers visithttps://lnkd.in/gVd7m_xh
