The support provider created by and for people with a disability

About us

My Supports is a national provider of NDIS supports, including support coordination, daily life, community participation, capacity, and skill building. We offer supports enabling people all abilities, including people with complex and high needs, to live in their own community. My Supports also provides supports to those who are funded for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Individualised Living Options (ILO). Founded by two people in wheelchairs and a long-time carer. This is the lived experience we aim to bring to our services every day. Roughly 25% of our workforce has a disability and a big portion has lived experience of disability. My Supports works in small neighbourhood teams bringing local connections and contacts. We want you to be part of your own community and build your own support network so you can live as independently as possible in your own surroundings. At My Supports we pride ourselves on doing our very best to match our clients with our support workers based on compatible personality traits, likes and dislikes, location, and cultural background. Our support workers come from all walks of life which help us make great matches for our clients!

🎶 Scott's Night at the Grease Musical! 🎭 Scott, an absolute fan of musicals, recently had the time of his life at the Grease musical! He was over the moon to meet the legendary Marcia Hines, who plays Teen Angel, and Patty Newton, who plays Miss Lynch. With Carly, his support worker, by his side, Scott even got up for a little dance, making the experience even more memorable. His mum shared that Scott’s smile lasted for days after he got home. Since then, he’s been reliving the magic by watching the Grease movies again and again. The night ended with everyone on their feet, singing and dancing along to the finale—an unforgettable moment for Scott! 💃🕺 #GreaseIsTheWord #Inclusivity #NDIS #MusicalMagic

Darryn's Journey: A Story of Resilience and Recovery Darryn's journey hasn't been an easy one. In his youth, he fell in with the wrong crowd and began using drugs, primarily meth. His struggle with addiction saw him in and out of rehab. One harrowing day, his then-girlfriend used all her dole payment for a batch of meth that turned out to be laced. This led Darryn on a 2-3 day bender, culminating in a terrifying moment where he threatened his mother's life. His sister, present at the time, called the Psychiatric Emergency Team (PET), who arrived and restrained him. The memory of losing control in that way still haunts Darryn. While recovering in a mental health facility and being diagnosed with schizophrenia, Darryn made a life-changing decision: he would no longer own a mobile phone to avoid the temptation of calling old friends. This was the start of his journey to sobriety. He moved into a Vinnies group home for men, receiving significant support and guidance. Fifteen years later, Darryn achieved a major milestone by being granted a Homeswest unit, allowing him to live independently and manage his own medication. Today, Darryn still sees his parents and helps his dad with his lawn mowing business a few days a week. He also receives support from My Supports twice a week. When he moved into his new unit, we put out a call to our team for spare furniture. Thanks to the generosity of Marie and some of our staff at My Supports, we were able to fully furnish his cozy home. Darryn's story is one of resilience, determination, and the power of community support. We're proud to be part of his journey and to see him thrive independently. #MySupports #ClientStory #Resilience #CommunitySupport
