Monash University researchers are undertaking a study of the experiences of Victorians who have been detected for minor drug offences. They want to interview people who have been detected (or picked up) for personal use or possession of an illicit drug Monash University researchers will be visiting the Nas Recovery Centre from the 4th of October to do the interviews. The interviews will take around 30 minutes, and will be audio recorded. The researcher will ask you questions about the offence, what were the impacts for you, and how you think the system could be improved. All of this information will be kept confidential and you won’t be identified. As a thank you for your time, you will be provided with a $60 retail voucher. You don’t have to participate if you don’t want to. Participating or not will have nothing to do with the services you receive from Nas Recovery Services. Are you interested in taking part? If yes, scan the QRCode for further information.https://https://lnkd.in/giRSUD4G #research

We are excited to spotlight our visionary founder, Nyachan! She saw a gap in mental health and AOD support and took action to create wrap-around interventions and preventive solutions. Nyachan unapologetically advocates for the underserved, ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need. As an empathic and down-to-earth leader, she is not just a conventional figure; she’s a hands-on manager, counsellor, friend, and innovator. You will find her feeding the homeless, transporting clients to the emergency department, in the counseling room supporting families, and inspiring young African Australians to dream bigger. Her commitment to the community is nothing short of inspiring. We couldn’t be prouder of her nomination as a finalist for the Women Leads Agenda Awards, following her recent recognition as a Local Hero. This highlights the profound impact she has made—no good deed goes unnoticed!
