We were absolutely delighted to receive a visit from Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, and our Chief Patron Jodie Haydon! Along with National Portrait Gallery Director Bree Pickering, they received a special tour of our Darling Portrait Prize and National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibitions as well as a sneak peek at 'Joan Ross: Those trees came back to me in my dreams'. We can't wait to welcome them both back in the near future! ❤️

[Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that this post contains images of deceased persons.] ❤️ Thanks to the generosity of our supporter community during the 2024 Annual Appeal, we are delighted to announce that we are able to bring the five portraits in Tracey Moffatt's 'Some Lads' series together, allowing them to be presented and viewed as the artist intended – a complete series. We are deeply grateful for the continued generosity of supporters who are committed to the growth of the National Portrait Collection. Thank you for your generosity and for ensuring we were able to complete the picture! We look forward to sharing this landmark acquisition with you and to welcoming you to the National Portrait Gallery again soon. 🔗 For a closer look, check out our website: https://bit.ly/3WbMk8u [📷 Tracey Moffatt, Some Lads #1, 1986 (left).
