    How many hours have you wasted on 'Restructure Grind'? 😡 If you’re like most organisations we speak to, chances are you’re still relying on Visio, Powerpoint and Excel to navigate complex restructures across thousands (or even tens of thousands) of employees. Organisations with SAP, Oracle or Workday are usually the biggest offenders. Why? It revolves around the HR data. Restructures are confidential, urgent, and CEOs often hand them over to HR with tight deadlines and limited resources. HR are left with little IT support and a vow of secrecy that blocks HR data cleansing. Here are a few tips to keep your restructure on track: 📝 Have a restructure plan in your bottom drawer. It should detail the data, resources, org design tools and timeline you'll need when the time comes. 🏗 Build your org chart - before the storm hits. In peacetime (before the restructure panic), establish an accurate, automated org chart for your entire organisation. Yes, it takes time and you might need a third-party vendor. However once it’s live, your CEO, CFO, and senior leaders will use it daily. 🤓 Let your managers clean up their data, without you asking. Share that org chart company-wide. Once managers realise the CEO has access, they'll be more motivated to keep their HR data accurate. ⚡ Keep your data live. During the restructure, ensure your org chart is automatically updated with live data. This saves you from late-night, line-by-line data reviews, and the headaches that come with them. 🧟♂️ Go beyond the basics: Highlight vacancies, retirement risk, and skills gaps. Layering these details into your org chart helps you avoid zombie positions (roles with no viable candidate). Plus, you get a more complete picture of your workforce. 🏃♀️ Speed matters. After every review meeting, provide stakeholders with updated org charts, cost breakdowns, and impact analysis for each business unit. Fast turnaround times build trust and keep everyone aligned. 🤔 Consider using org design software. Being able to host review meetings in a live org chart will save you countless hours of post-meeting admin. Plus, you can instantly share HR Consultation Packs with the CEO and Board.
