An Ecosystm study reveals that 51% of technology leaders in Australia don't have a clear picture of their organisation's cybersecurity posture and risks. What are their biggest vulnerabilities? How are they trying to stay ahead of the curve? Yesterday, Ecosystm VP Research Tim Sheedy moderated a roundtable discussion in Melbourne with our partners NEC Australia and Check Point Software. Technology leaders gathered to explore best practices for building long-term cyber resilience. Key takeaways include: 💡Cyber-attacks are becoming more difficult to detect due to the use of AI and automation. Even without a ransom demand, these attacks can mimic legitimate IT support, making them particularly dangerous. 💡Global firms struggle to balance cyber costs with other business priorities. Managing cybersecurity across regions and acquisitions adds to the complexity. Effective communication with senior management drives investment. 💡While companies use zero-trust and MFA, integrating cybersecurity into daily operations is challenging. Phishing simulations often show high failure rates (up to 20%), underscoring the need for regular cyber training. 💡Cyber insurance is difficult to obtain and maintain; it may also give a false sense of security. Rising costs and compliance efforts make organisations rethink its value, especially without coverage for class action lawsuits. 💡Supply chain risks, especially those related to third-party software, are a growing concern. Many organisations struggle to ensure that their vendors maintain high cybersecurity standards. A big thank you to our partners and attendees for making the roundtable a truly insightful discussion. #LeadersRoundtable #CyberSecurity #TechLeadership #CyberResilience #AIThreats #SupplyChainSecurity #CyberInsurance Clinton Byrne, Kylie Smith, Yang Liu, Stuart Wyse, Scott Mann, Katrina Nicol, Michal Osmo, Chris White, Faith Ong Hwee Ching, Jenice R., Jasvin Toor

Ecosystm research reveals that 43% of Australian organisations are prioritising data governance and management to accelerate AI use, while 40% are focusing on improving data quality and consistency. Despite these efforts, more work is needed to fully realise AI's potential. To discuss what these next steps should be, Ecosystm VP Research Tim Sheedy hosted a Leaders Roundtable in Sydney yesterday, in collaboration with our partners, NEC Australia and NICE. Key insights from the session include: 💡Organisations are at varying AI stages. Agile businesses have already advanced; some face pressure to invest in GenAI, while others remain cautious. Yet, AI is a priority for all to cut costs and boost productivity 💡Poor knowledge management hinders GenAI investments. Companies struggle with inconsistent data across platforms, needing human intervention for data governance. Lengthy, inconsistently named, outdated articles require regular training for customer service agents. 💡Insufficient funding for data governance and knowledge management hinders AI adoption. Data and tech leaders struggle to gain support due to misconceptions about the value of knowledge management. Reframing data governance to enhance CX outcomes could help overcome this challenge. 💡To build trustworthy GenAI tools, CX and tech leaders must improve information architecture and invest in vector databases. This clarifies data relationships and tailors responses to customer needs. For example, identical questions from two mobile network customers may require different answers based on plan types. 💡Companies should start small with GenAI in CX. They should select a contact centre team to focus on a specific customer group or journey segment. They should implement necessary technologies and conduct internal tests before launch. Emphasising metrics like FCR or AHT demonstrates cost savings and improved experiences. Thank you to the participants and our partners for an insightful and candid conversation! #LeadersRoundtable #RoundtableDiscussion #DataGovernance #AIAdoption #KnowledgeManagement #GenAI #DataQuality #TechInvestment #AgileBusiness Clinton Byrne, Kylie Smith, Mark Devine, Zac Westbrook, Ben Hancock, Belinda Gill, Nicole Bekesan, Michal Osmo, Chris White, Faith Ong Hwee Ching, Jenice R.

This recent report in The Guardian addresses an important conversation around safety in public spaces and on public transport, especially for women. NEC Australia was proud to be referenced in the article as part of a broader conversation about making public transport safer through planning, technology, and partnerships with organizations like Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand (PTAANZ), specifically in the context of improving safety for women. 👩💼🚇 🎙️ As Lauren Streifer, CEO of PTAANZ, explains: “Public transport is twice as safe as driving, and our cities are much safer than other parts of the world, but because of a lack of diverse opinions when planning things like lighting, routes that women take, and service frequency and connections, there’s a perception among women that it isn’t safe.” NEC Australia partners with PTAANZ on the Women Who Move Nations podcast series, which continues to elevate these important conversations and the voices of influential female decision-makers in traditionally male-dominated industries like transport planning and urban design.   Working with transport authorities and operators both here in Australia and globally, NEC develops and provides cutting-edge technology solutions to make public transport smarter and safer. From AI-driven systems to real-time data analytics, we’re helping to shape the future of smart transport, ensuring safety and connectivity for everyone. 🌐🔒 📰 Read The Guardian article: https://lnkd.in/gFcdp5DZ #PublicSafety #TransportSafety #PublicTransport #WomenInTransport #InclusiveDesign #TechnologyForGood #SmartTransport
