Data centers are just bland, utilitarian boxes, said no NEXTDC'er ever! Even after so long in the industry, I love checking out where AI thrives and the Cloud Lives. Not only do they look fantastic, but as we accelerate into a new world of compute, what they support is increasingly mind-bending. NEXTDC’s cutting-edge design at M2 continues to push the envelope of what a data center can look like, and this facility is one of my favourite examples. But then, just like your children, it's hard to pick a favourite. The evolution from the first 171 racks in Perth at the Perth iX data centre to the powerhouses supporting the digital economy of today is almost unbelievable. Released today - Mandala latest research, commissioned by Data Centre industry members including NEXTDC, shows that $26 billion in data centre investment by 2030 will power innovation, create jobs, and support the clean energy transition. Some of the key findings from this report includes: - Australian data centre capacity is forecast to top $26 billion by 2030 - Data centre deployable capacity in Australia is projected to more than double from 1,350 megawatts (MW) in 2024 to 3,100 MW by 2030. - Australia’s data centre workforce is projected to grow by 8,300 to reach 17,900 by 2030 NEXTDC is proud to drive Australia’s digital future and is committed to sustainability, with operators targeting 100% renewable energy by 2030. 🏗️ Scaling up in Melbourne to meet customer future requirements. 🚀 We've commenced construction on 8MW of new capacity in Melbourne. Our M2 facility at Tullamarine continues to emerge as a hyperscale cloud zone jewel in Melbourne's North-West. Via principal construction contractor, Kapitol Group, the build of Stage 6 has recently commenced to support Victoria's digital acceleration.
