With over 15 years of experience in Remote Visual Inspection (#RVI), specifically in Industrial Endoscopy, I recently had the pleasure of "getting back to my roots" with the viZaar industrial imaging AG Vuman E3+. To say I was impressed with its usability is an understatement! One standout feature is its remote focus capability, which eliminates the need to constantly change lenses. This innovation made tasks like inspecting a heat exchanger—from large voids to tiny tube bundles—and even a gas turbine, moving seamlessly from the combustion chamber to the nozzle guide vanes to view the turbine blades, remarkably simple. The pneumatic articulation is another real time saver. During one inspection, I only needed about 1.5 meters of insertion tube, and there wasn't space to unravel everything. This wasn't a problem, as even coiled up, the full range of articulation is achieved. It's something simple, but often overlooked! I've included a throwback to when I used to conduct the Borescope courses at the Rolls-Royce training academy—where I learned a lot. I love the challenge of robotics and having tools such as industrial endoscopes and Non-Destructive Testing equipment as part of our arsenal. Nexxis has really allowed me to expand my knowledge and present multi-faceted solutions.
