  • The U.S. currently maintains the largest nuclear fleet in the world with 94 operational reactors totalling approximately 100 gigawatts of power. Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Nuclear Energy, Mike Goff was recently interviewed by CNBC where he said the U.S. needs to at least triple its nuclear fleet to keep pace with demand, slash carbon dioxide emissions and ensure the nation’s energy security. The U.S. needs to add 200 gigawatts of nuclear power, Goff told CNBC in an interview. This is roughly equivalent to building 200 new plants, based on the current average reactor size in the U.S. fleet of about a gigawatt. A global coalition led by the U.S in December formally pledged to meet the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions and limit climate change by 2050. Financial institutions including Goldman Sachs and Bank of America endorsed the target at a climate conference in New York City last week. Global Uranium and Enrichment is successfully building a high-quality North American project portfolio, which comprises of the flagship Tallahassee Project which boasts an MRE of 52.2 Mlbs, the high-grade Maybell Project and high-quality landholdings in the Athabasca basin. Importantly, Global Uranium is establishing the right project portfolio at the right time and the Company is focused on continuing its busy work program across development and exploration programs over the next 12 months. • Global Uranium and Enrichment ’s maiden drilling campaign at the Maybell #Uranium Project in Colorado is continuing as planned and on track for completion mid-September. The high-grade results from the first two drill holes were very encouraging, eclipsing initial expectations of the Company.   Maybell’s strong history of production (5.3mlbs of U3O8), coupled with these initial results, reflects that historical grades and outcomes may be replicable. The Company looks forward to providing further updates as the program approaches completion.   #uranium #exploration
