Rev’d Up Garden, Rochedale South The picturesque setting and stunning views from our clients property made the design of this garden a breeze. However some special features of this design and the client needs made this incredibly steep slope block a challenge. What special features you ask, our client was a keen motorbike rider and loved to maintain and work on her motorbikes, so the entire front garden was designed to make this as easy and efficient as possible. With flooring and materials, shade and lighting all designed to be able to work on motorbikes either during the day or night. This unique design has allowed our client to be able to use her garden doing something she loved in a beautiful environment. #orterra #uniquelandscapedesign #motorbikeworkshop

Pocket Forests WA are planting tiny forests in spaces as small as a car parking spot, a tennis court or a street verge. Check out this interesting video as ABC reporter Pamela Medlen went to see what goes into creating these tiny forests. https://lnkd.in/gzhyBWFc

Take a look at these fantastic images of the Nambour Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) that opened for operation at the end of 2023. This new high-tech MRF has the capacity to process more than 60,000 tonnes of material each year, recovering valuable resources and supporting Queensland on its journey to meet waste targets and create a zero-waste society. Orterra was delighted to work with Sunshine Coast Council and Projex Partners to create the landscape design for this project. Some of the key considerations included providing a standard of landscape amenity commensurate with the industrial setting, maximising space for future uses of the site and ensuring low maintenance and low water demand post-establishment. 📸aerial images courtesy of @projexpartnersptyltd #orterradesign #NambourMRF #zerowasteQLD

To celebrate the end of bird week we want to share team Orterra’s favourite birds…it was surprisingly difficult to choose just one each. We love our beautiful feathered friends. #nationalbirdweek2024 #orterralovesbirds

Entertainer's Dream Space, Annerley For this design the client’s brief was to create a series of spaces which are family and pet friendly. An important part of the design was to include a number of areas suitable for entertaining guests. This stepped block, minimal access and existing retaining walls and easements meant we had to get creative with the spaces and make sure we used every bit of the garden. The garden now has a defined back and front garden space allowing for easier use for the family and pets. Our client’s loved the design so much that they reworked their home renovation plans around the proposed landscape design. #orterra #familyfriendlydesign #landscapearchitecture

Mapping the world's fungi from air samples. An exciting study by Australia’s very own Southern Cross University has found the key to mapping global biodiversity. Professor Nigel Andrew who was part of the global study said “DNA from all species living on land is floating around in the air. This DNA can be used to sample and assess the diversity and distribution of all species…” https://lnkd.in/gehn_kt6
