💥2 HOURS LEFT TO VOTE – QLD WE NEED YOU - VOTE NOW TO PROTECT PLA!💥 We didn’t come this far, to only come this far. Every single vote counts to pass our important constitutional changes and protect against risks at the AGM. It's your PLA - you need to vote to protect it! Now is not the time for apathy. Please vote by completing the forms and return them to membership@parksleisure.com.au TODAY (hard deadline 12 noon (AEST) Today, 13th October 2024)! There are two proxy forms that need to be completed (thank the Corporations Act for that one, sorry). 📍Annual General Meeting proxy form https://lnkd.in/gKRVpEgc 📍 Extraordinary General Meeting proxy form https://lnkd.in/ghABaZ7x 📍 It is important you select a trusted Proxy - either a member of your team who is attending the conference, a member of your Regional Council or alternatively you can select National President Kristin Davies. If you have received proxy votes and are attending the AGM, these still need to be lodged and verified by the deadline – please forward all proxies to membership@parksleisure.com.au for them to be eligible. If you are not registered to come to the conference in Brisbane already and plan on attending the EGM and AGM Tuesday, 15 October 2024, at 12:30pm – 1:55pm local time, you can register your attendance here: https://lnkd.in/gjCrqXiM 📖 About the new Official PLA Constitution: Our new Official PLA Constitution provides for stronger and more contemporary governance, allows PLA to seek charitable status and complies with the new Federal Government gender policy that enables PLA to be eligible for future funding. Most importantly it futureproofs PLA’s ability to connect people to the industry, opportunities and each other and maintain national peak body status. All the information on the constitution can be found here is anyone would like more details: https://lnkd.in/gjCrqXiM

Thank you to all QLD Members for your active participation and contributions to the Constitution consultation process. Your understanding and input have been invaluable as we work towards a more contemporary governance framework! Passing this Constitution lays the foundation for the next 12 months of further engagement and improvement, ensuring our governance reflects the needs of all members and regions, including here in QLD. This includes support for ongoing growth, continued regionally-based delivery of professional development, and opportunities to explore charitable status. Please rest assured, there is still time to contribute! The PLA National Board acknowledges that the short notice for consultation was not ideal and apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused. There will be further explanatory communications next week regarding the current state of play, as we remain committed to transparency with our members. Together, we will build a stronger, unified organisation. Thank you again for your support!

Call to all QLD PLA Members - your input is vital to shaping the future of PLA! The official draft constitution is now live for feedback! This constitution has been developed in collaboration with our regional council and legal advisors to ensure it aligns with best practices in not-for-profit governance (e.g. bringing clarity to roles and responsibilities and allowing a mechanism to explore future charitable and peak body status in all states and regions). Our regional council full supports the constitution as an important step forward! To understand the scope of the proposed changes and how they differ from the current constitution, please review the Explanatory Memorandum 👉https://lnkd.in/gsJrnQNt We encourage you to review the changes and share your thoughts, questions or concerns on the draft constitution 👉 https://lnkd.in/gUxZs9Sd The QLD Regional Council recognise the consultation period for the draft constitution is short due to the procedural timelines under the Corporation Act and our current constitution. While the timeframe is tight, there is a commitment to transparency and maintaining an open dialogue with all members. Please send all feedback to Tyson Negerman, our Membership Coordinator, at membership@parksleisure.com.au by COB Today, 19 September 2024. Parks and Leisure Australia

A big thanks to our friends Green by Nature Group ANZ for their ongoing support of PLA QLD. An insightful conversation between Sean Winterflood from Green by Nature Group ANZ and Sarah Chalkley from Sunshine Coast Council about the opportunities in designing our communities to suit the environment and natural characteristics of our regions. Awesome to see 50+ of you turn up for this breakfast after the awards night and well done to Tobias Volbert from Urban Play for your questions that won the Sunshine Coast Design Book.
