We’re proud to align with the Australian Government’s vision of strengthening the Defence workforce through inclusive partnerships with Pacific nations. As outlined in the recently released 2024 Defence Workforce Plan, “Defence will work with our Pacific Family with a view to expanding the focus on non-citizen recruitment to the Pacific", this initiative highlights the importance of cultural diversity and regional solidarity, recognising the value Pacific Islanders bring to the Australian Defence Force. PeopleIN has been a strong and longstanding advocate for this approach, as recently as at the Land Forces in Melbourne, where our CEO, Ross Thompson, presented a proven Pacific recruitment plan to industry leaders. Through our workforce solutions and established presence across the Pacific via the PALM Scheme, we stand ready to support this initiative, building pathways to fulfilment and resilience while contributing to a capable, diverse workforce that will protect and enhance our shared region. The Australian Government has introduced the Aged Care Bill 2024, bringing with it a shift in how aged care services will be delivered. This law aims to provide older Australians with greater choice, independence, and high-quality care, both at home and in residential settings. 💬 Key Highlights: The new Aged Care Act, starting July 2025, will ensure there are greater levels of consistency in the quality of care from aged care providers. The Support at Home program will replace the current home care services, empowering older Australians to live independently for longer. Reforms are based on recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care, which the Government says focuses on fairness, safety, and sustainability. 💼 For Aged Care Workers: These reforms recognise the dedication of aged care workers, with new measures to improve working conditions: 24/7 Registered Nurse Requirement in residential care to support around-the-clock assistance. 200 mandatory care minutes per resident, ensuring adequate care time. A 15% wage increase, benefiting over 250,000 aged care workers. Workforce development and training programs to better equip staff and improve career opportunities in the sector. We will keep you updated on any further changes to Aged Care legislation, so follow us for more updates! #AgedCareReform #SupportAtHome #AgedCareAustralia #RoyalCommission #QualityCare #HomeCareSupport #ResidentialCare #AgedCareTaskforce #SeniorCare #AgedCareWorkers #Independence #BetterAgedCare #AgedCareBill2024 #CareWithDignity #WageIncrease #WorkforceDevelopment
